CASTLE DALE-Beverly Gean Jensen, age 87, passed away May 7, 2016 at the Emery County Care & Rehabilitation Center in Ferron.
She was born Dec. 20, 1928 in Cleveland, Utah to Ernest and Nellie Davis Jensen. Married John Peter Jensen, July 12, 1947 in Cleveland, Utah and their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on April 25, 1970. John preceded her in death on July 28, 2008.
Beverly was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities including; The Relief Society Presidency, Primary Presidency, Young Women’s and many other teaching positions. Beverly was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She loved serving others and her Heavenly Father.
She loved her family and they were very important to her. Beverly taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to serve others and have a great compassion for others. She was a great example and everyone who knew her, loved her. She worked in many jobs which included; P.C. Jones & Sons, Four Corners Mental Health, Wilcox Insurance, The Polar King and as the head lifeguard at the Castle Dale Swimming Pool.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone at the Emery County Care & Rehabilitation for the exceptional care extended to Beverly.
Survived by four children and their spouses, Ernest (Ellie) Jensen, Castle Dale, Jolene (Craig) Spicer, West Valley City, Gayle (Connie) Jensen, Kay (Sandy) Jensen, both of Castle Dale; sisters, Thelma Jensen, Ferron, Wyanna (Ronald) World, Cleveland; 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Blake Jones, Price.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, John Jensen; son, Basil Jensen; granddaughter, Amanda Jensen; parents, Ernest and Nellie Jensen; sisters, Wilda Jones and Sandra Jensen; infant brother, Ernest Edward Jensen; brothers-in-law, Bert and Henry Jensen; and step-father, Earl Wilde.
Funeral service, Saturday, May 14, 2016, 11 a.m., Castle Dale Stake Center (35 East Main) in Castle Dale. Family will receive friends at the church Friday evening from 6-80 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Castle Dale City Cemetery.
