Emery soccer beats N. Sevier; suffers loss to Grand

The Emery High boys soccer team now possess an overall record of 6-4 and a region record of 4-4 as they battle to make the 2-A state soccer playoffs that begin in just three short weeks.
Manti and Wasatch Academy are 4-1 in region action with the Templars also owning a tie game and Grand is 4-2-1 so far this region season. Gunnison is 3-2, South Sevier is 2-4-1 and North Sevier is 0-7.
Last week Emery defeated North Sevier by the score of 6-1 with each team scoring one goal in the first half and then the Spartans scoring five goals in the second half.
Emery lost to Grand by the score of 3-2 after Grand had scored all their goals in the first half while the Spartans scored a goal in each half.
Ashton Dieli scored twice against the Wolves and Cayden Fox, Dallan Ward, Ethan Winter and Spencer Hadfield each scored once. Ethan and Brock Winter scored the two goals against the Red Devils.
Emery will play at Wasatch Academy on Tuesday for their only action this week. Emery has just four matches remaining with three being on the road and just a single game at home on April 19 versus South Sevier.
