CLEVELAND-Charles Coulson (Bus) Rich, age 75, rode off into the sunset on May 31, 2016.
He was born July 28, 1940 in Wellington, Utah to Thorald “Cotton” Rich and Lucille Housekeeper and spent his earlier years growing up in Nine Mile. Bus loved the beauty of the area and the breath taking views from the South Ouray. His favorite view was looking into the Green River and across to Nine Mile.
He married Jeanine Robertson, May 8, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple and the couple made their home in Vernal prior to her passing on January 23, 1996. On March 23, 2001, he married Roanna Allred Olsen in Las Vegas, Nev.
Bus loved being a cowboy and was considered a legend by many in the area. Family meant everything to him, and he especially looked up to his brothers. His hobbies included: steer wrestling, riding saddle bronc, training horses with Roanna and fixing up the farm in Cleveland. He attended BYU and was a member of the Rodeo Team. He rode saddle bronc in the P.R.C.A. and was an active member of the Buckhorn Riding Club of Cleveland. Bus was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He also served honorably with the Utah National Guard.
Bus treated everyone as family and loved nothing more than sharing a good story. He was a tireless worker who wasn’t scared of hard work. For years he worked for Nielson Construction where his favorite piece of equipment was the John Deere Motorgrader. Bus loved riding his 4-wheeler, watching football and the Utah Jazz.
