The Manti-La Sal National Forest has selected one of its own to lead the Sanpete Ranger District. Kyle Beagley, who has worked in the minerals program for the Ferron/Price District, will fill the District Ranger position recently vacated by Kevin Draper.
Beagley has a rich background in natural resource management. Prior to his work on the Manti-La Sal National Forest, he worked for the Natural Resource Conservation Service, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and the Bureau of Land Management. He is a graduate of Utah State University, with a degree in forestry.
“I am excited to live and work in the Sanpete Valley,” said Beagley. “I have visited the Sanpete area throughout my life and have always been impressed with the commitment that the residents have to their communities and the forest.”
Maintaining open and strong relationships with the public and community leaders is important to the new Ranger. “I want to encourage a high standard of availability to the public. Communication and openness about decision making processes and projects implemented on the District are my priorities.”
Beagley and his wife, Janell, were both raised in Emery County, where they have been active in their community, volunteering in Scouting, coaching, the local museum, and schools. They have three daughters and will be moving to Sanpete from Castle Dale.
