Edward Douglas “Burgie” Harrison, 74, passed away at his home in Huntington with his wife at his side on July 10, 2016 following a valiant fight against cancer. He was born on Jan. 20, 1942 in Orangeville, Utah to Douglas Seddon and Vearl Guymon Harrison. He married Joan Lee Sisk on Feb. 20, 1988.
Ed attended Orangeville Elementary School then moved to Salt Lake in 1955 and attended Junior High School and High School in Salt Lake City. He graduated from South High School in 1960. After graduating from high school Ed moved to California where he joined the Navy. He lived in Ventura County California after discharge from the Navy.
Ed later moved back to Utah and lived with his father Doug Harrison. Ed worked for Huntington City and then went to work in the mines. After retiring from the mines he drove a truck for Nielson Construction for several years.
Ed is survived by his spouse Joan, his two stepsons, Joey and Jeffrey Pate, his grandchildren Kendra and Jacinda Pate and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Janet Daniels, Judy Harrison, and Alicyn Studyvin. Also survived by two stepbrothers Bruce and Ralph Alger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step children James and Janet Pate.
A viewing will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Huntington Stake Center with a viewing one hour prior. Interment will follow in the Huntington City Cemetery.
