Emery/Green River High honor students

Ben Brown, Tyler Hunt and Tony Herrera are the honor students at Green River High School.

Emery High has announced the graduation speakers for the 2017 graduation exercises which will be held on May 25 at the Emery High auditorium. Allyson Woolsey, Aubreyona Migliori and Kaden Allred are the Valedictorians. Simone Burton, Ty Mecham and Garret Stilson are the Honor Students.
Bios for the students:
Simone Burton is the 18 year old daughter of Frank and Priscilla Burton of Cleveland. She maintains a 4.0 grade point average and is a three-year member of EHS’s drill team and serves as drill mistress, a member of Science Club, Math Club, and Drama Club where she has won two superior ratings at the State meet. Simone participates in peer tutoring and is a member of National Honor Society. She serves as the EHS Senior Class president. Simone is Emery High’s Dance Sterling Scholar.
Simone aspires to work as a marine biologist or an environmental scientist and her favorite classes are AP Literature and history. She enjoys scuba diving and is certified. Her hobbies are skiing, hiking, dancing, swimming, traveling, and volunteering. Simone plans on attending college after graduation.
Garret Stilson is the 17 year old son of Marc and Korinda Stilson of Orangeville. He serves as Emery High School’s student body president and participates in swim, cross-country, track, and drama. Garret is Emery High’s Drama Sterling Scholar.
Garret enjoys his drama classes at the high school. He likes reading, hunting, camping, and scouts. After graduation Garret plans on serving a mission for his church and attending college to become a teacher.
Ty Mecham is the 17 year old son of Doug and Kathy Mecham of Huntington. He maintains a 4.0 grade point average. He participates in football, wrestling, Quiz Bowl, track and field and is a member of National Honor Society and serves on the senior class social committee. Ty is Emery High’s Social Studies Sterling Scholar. Ty’s favorite classes at the high school are history and physics. He enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
Aubreyona Migliori is the 17 year old daughter of Ethan and Heidi Migliori of Ferron. She maintains a 4.0 grade point average and serves as the Emery High School’s student body vice-president. Aubreyona is a member of the tennis and speech and debate teams, serves in Emery Youth coalition as president, National Honor Society as president, Future Farmers of America, and Future Business Leaders of America. She is Emery High’s Math Sterling Scholar.
Aubreyona has always enjoyed her math classes. She enjoys boating, hunting, and cooking. She plans on attending college and studying engineering after graduation.
Allyson Woolsey is the 18 year old daughter of Jennett and Darren Woolsey of Castle Dale. She maintains a 4.0 grade point average and serves as the Emery High School’s student body vice president. Allyson is a member of the Youth coalition, peer tutoring, cross country and track teams, and science club where she is club president. She is Emery High’s Science Sterling Scholar.
Allyson enjoys her science and psychology classes. She enjoys running, biking, hiking, and traveling. Allyson plans on serving a mission for her church after graduation then attending Brigham Young University.
Kaden Allred is the son of Seth and Jackie Allred of Elmo. He has been on the EHS stage crew for three years and is the manager this year. Kaden enjoys almost anything outdoors – especially fishing and skeet shooting. He was staff for the Timberline Scout Camp for six years with the last one as Senior Patrol Leader. He also earned his Eagle Scout in 2014. He has lettered in pep band during high school. Kaden will be serving a two year mission for the LDS church in Richmond, Virginia speaking Spanish. After returning, he plans on attending college in mechanical engineering and machining.
Green River honor students to speak at graduation on May 25 include Antonio Jamie Herrera as class Valedictorian. Tyler Hunt is the Salutatorian and  Benjamin J. Brown  is the honor student. Tony Herrera is the son of Abel and Rebecca Herrera. He is an only child. He is 18 years old and is finishing his senior year at Green River High. His GPA is 3.99. He is currently the senior class president. He was the only member of the band in his school for awhile until he could recruit some other band members. He has been on the golf team. His favorite activity is music. He enjoys playing music, fishing and going bowling. He will attend Snow College in the fall to pursue a degree in music.
Benjamin J. Brown is the son of Jimmy and Joella Brown. His GPA is 3.98. He has a brother named Nathaniel and a sister named Kenzie. He is completing his senior year at Green River High. Activities he has excelled at include quiz bowl, drama and choir. His interests include writing, reading, video games and learning. He will attend Southern Utah University in the fall.
Tyler Hunt is the son of Coby and Pamila Hunt. His brother Kole is 16, Hoyt is 11 and Dochia is age 4. He is completing his senior year at Green River High. His GPA is 3.91. He has been the first vice president in the student council. He is a first counselor in the priest’s quorum at his local LDS church. He enjoys ranching and farming. His interests include ranching and farming, law and US History. He plans to become an agricultural lawyer and he would like to retire someday with a big ranch.
