Norma Brady

HUNTINGTON-Our loving sister and aunt, Norma Halene Brady, 75, passed away May 12, 2017 in Price.
She was born Sept. 23, 1941 in Green River, Wyo. the ninth child of Phillip and Zelma Elvira Sherman Brady. In the fall of 1947 Norma moved to Huntington and ten years later she relocated to Salt Lake City.
Norma was one of God’s special children who was loved by all who came to know her. Her mission was a lifelong teaching to family and friends that people can and are different. In her childhood she was our playmate, cohort, friend and beloved family member. She spent hours watching cartoons, coloring, singing, cutting pictures off canned good labels, playing with stuffed animals and sharing long hugs. As we grew into adulthood she remained a child and we became her caregiver and protector. Although she never knew that she taught us unconditional love, acceptance, tolerance and endurance. She did teach us that being different is okay. What we remember most is her embrace and that there is always an inner child in all of us.
Norma was preceded in death by her father in 1947, mother in 2000, sister, Vondella and brother Eccels.
She is survived by her brother, Leland “Leon” Brady, Green River, Wyo.; sisters, Bertha (Calvin) Briggs, Selah, Wash., Martha Hilton, Bountiful, Utah, Kaleta Barney, Elmo, Ruby (Carl) Westlake, Huntington, Verna Lewis, Huntington, Delaina (Owen) Minchey, Richfield; 34 loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral service, Thursday, May 18, 2017, 1 p.m., Huntington Stake Center where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Huntington City Cemetery under the trusted care of Mitchell Funeral Home of Price. Friends are welcome to share memories of Norma online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
