Green River, Utah/St. George – Earline Woolsey Nelson, 98, passed away on Feb. 15, 2017 in St. George, Utah. Earline is the mother of Bruce Nelson (Ann) of Green River, Carolyn Wilson (Richard) of St. George, Harold Nelson of Green River, Linda Woolsey (Bob) of Marysville, Wash., Randy Nelson (Jackie) of Green River, Daughter-in-law Sharon Nelson of Moab, and foster son, Seti Matua (Olini) of Granger.
Born Nov. 13, 1918 to Earl and LaVern Hardy Woolsey in Provo, Utah. Married Virgil Homer Nelson, Jr. on Sept. 9, 1937 in the Salt Lake City Temple. She was dubbed the “Melon Queen” for her family’s success in the melon business, Head Cook for School Lunch, and also served many years as the Green River Senior Citizen Center Director and Cook.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 at the LDS Chapel in Green River, Utah. Family and friends called at the Church for the viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
