An Aug. 7 groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction for the Eastern Utah Surgical Center, to be located at 200 North Fairgrounds Road in Price. Local city officials touting the center as a boon for the local economy were present for the festivities.
The 10,500-square foot building designed by MRW Design will house outpatient surgical and laser facilities. Watts Construction of St. George will serve as general contractor for the building construction, scheduled for completion at the end of December.
Local ophthalmologist Jeffrey Hansen, M.D. is involved with the project, which is funded through a loan from Zions Bank. “Many Eastern Utah residents travel far away to cities along the Wasatch Front for their outpatient surgical needs. But we want to keep the business local, boost the economy and offer patients another option,” said Dr. Hansen.
Dr. Hansen will move his current office down the street to the new state-of-the-art, 3,000-square foot facility, Eastern Utah Surgical Center when the building is finished.
