The Emery High Theatre Department will present the fun-filled musical ELF on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday December 18, 19, 20 at the Emery High Auditorium at 7 pm. Ticket prices are $5 for adults, $4 for students, and children 5 and under are free. Additionally the EHS Theatre Department is turning this into a food drive so everyone who brings a can of food to the play will receive $2 off of their ticket. All food will go to the Emery High Food Bank.
This production of ELF is a musical based on the popular movie starring Will Ferrell. It begins in the North Pole where Buddy the Elf learns he is not really an elf but a human who was accidently brought to the North Pole in Santa’s sack on his return journey. The scene then moves to New York City where Buddy has gone in search of his long-lost father. He experiences many adventures but the most exciting one is meeting a wonderful young girl named Jovie. In the end Buddy makes everything better than it was and even manages to save Christmas.
This joyful musical is a fun, very kid-friendly, play and only lasts an hour and 15 minutes. This production is the 50th musical for Director Neal Peacock in his 35 year career and his 190th play overall. It’s for this reason that the students decided to have the canned food drive along with the play. They have set a goal of getting 900 cans. So pack up the family, bring a few cans, and come and enjoy a fun evening with the elves.
