After serving the community for nearly 15 years Pastor Tim Lacock and his family are moving to Three Hills Alberta Canada. Pastor Lacock has accepted a pastoral position in Three Hills.
Pastor Lacock, his wife, Tammy and their children Tyler and Tara will miss the people of Ferron and Emery County. Three Hills is due North of Ferron and is similar to the small towns in Emery County.
The Lacock’s other children, Tina and TJ will remain in the states to finish college. Tina is attending Bob Jones University and TJ is attending Maranatha Baptist University. Collectively, the Lacocks are known as the six “Ts”.
Pastor Lacock said, “I will miss the area when I leave. There are not many places where you can travel 15 minutes and be in the desert or mountains. Utah is a great place to live. Utah is very friendly to homeschooling. All of my children have been able to participate in music, sports and other extra curricular activities provided by the school district. The kids really enjoyed that and they have made many friends. We have enjoyed living in the community and being part of it. I am thankful for the time God has allowed us to be here. If you are ever in Three Hills you’re welcome to visit us,” said Pastor Lacock.
Tyler is in high school and is looking forward to a new adventure. When asked what he would miss the most, Tyler said, “I will miss the people the most. The people are super friendly and sweet. I have met some good friends, who are fun to hang out with and play sports. The church family here is great. They made us feel at home. I look forward to whatever God has planned for us in our new ministry,” said Tyler.
Tara is happy to move to Three Hills. She said, “I will miss all of my friends and our church family. I look forward to meeting new people and telling them about God. I want to try ice skating. I also want to save money to go to college. I also want to play sports when we get there. I was a little sad when my dad first told me we were moving to Canada, but I know God is in control and I am looking forward to it,” said Tara.
Tammy said, “I enjoy living in this community. So many people have invested their time in the kids. We appreciate all of their coaches, music teachers and the 4-H advisors for all of their guidance. Ferron is a wonderful place. A trip to the library, bank, grocery store can take 20 minutes or it can take an hour depending on who you run in to that day. We like the small town life and the friends we have met here. I never expected God to take us to Canada. The mountains there are amazing. God is amazing and you never know where God will take you,” said Tammy.
