One of the first items on the Orangeville City Council agenda was the Mayors Award of $50 to Josh Brinkerhoff an outstanding student at the Cottonwood Elementary School. Samantha Roberts the Orangeville City, Youth City Council Mayor, with Ian Hughes and Jessie Nicholson reported on their day at the State of Utah Legislature. From the gallery the YCC members were able to watch the House of Representatives deliberate and discuss pending bills. The YCC then had lunch with Senator David Hinkins after which he gave the YCC members a tour of the Capitol Building. While in Salt Lake City YCC attended a meeting with other YCC members in the Salt Lake City Salt Palace. There they learned how the legislative process works.
The Youth City Council thanked Orangeville City for making it possible for them to attend the Day At the Legislature.
