The Emery Spartans cross country team took the state championship today at Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake. Two Emery runners finished in the top 10 with Tanyon Allred and Briar Meccariello leading the Spartans.
Other Spartan runners included: Griff Livingston, Mason Faimalo, McKay Meccariello, Ty Funk, Chase Christiansen.
Last year the Spartans finished second in 2A and this year running in 3A they are the state champs.
