Bouldering festival coming to Emery County Oct. 20-22

The Joe’s Valley Bouldering festival is coming to Emery County Friday-Sunday. Events locals are encouraged to attend include the cowboy games, climber games and the free concert.
Friday starts the fun with Registration and Ticket Pick-Up from 7 am – 5 pm. Buy or pick up your festival tickets at Cup of Joe’s in Orangeville. Yoga in the Park with Rebecka Cooper at 1:30 pm; Enjoy this restorative yoga session at the Orangeville City Park. The class may be held indoors due to weather conditions.
Local Artisan Clinic – Making Beef Jerky at 3 pm; Learn how to make beef jerky, and take it on the road with you. This 1.5-hour clinic will be at Ungerman Meats in Huntington. Tickets are $25. Space limited to eight participants.
 Local Artisan Clinic Making a  giant pizza at 3:30 pm; Come learn how to create R Pizza’s signature dish, the Giant Pizza, and take some of it with you. This 1 hour clinic will be at R Pizza Place in Castle Dale. Tickets are $10, Space limited to 10 participants.
Asana Climbing Wall Ribbon Cutting: 5:15 pm; Be the first to climb on the brand new wall, outfitted with Asana Climbing holds. The wall is located at the Visitor Center at the Emery County Rec Center in Castle Dale.
Legends and Lore of Joe’s Valley at 6 pm; Join us for the tale of Castle Country and its development into the climbing area it is today. Presented by Steven Jeffery and LaMar Guymon at Chick’s Rock-n-Roost in Castle Dale.
Mystery Ranch Cowboy Games at 7 pm at the Blue Sage Indoor Arena.  The cowboy games will feature everything from chicken chases to hide races. Absolutely the highlight of last year. Come join the fun and enter to win tons of prizes.
Castle Dale Ghost Tours at 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm
The Emery High School drama students are having a fundraiser and what better way to celebrate October than with a hayride ghost tour. Leaving from the Emery County Rec Center  in Castle Dale.
Petzl Night Bouldering Meet-Up at ​9 pm; Join Petzl athletes Carrie Cooper and Palmer Larsen to test out some of their newest lighting equipment out at the boulders. Meet at the Emery County Rec Center lawn after the Cowboy Games to carpool to New Joe’s. Bonfire from 9:30 pm until late. Come hang around the bonfire at the Emery County Rec Center lawn.
Saturday begins with Breakfast Burritos and Coffee at 8 am; Start your day off right with Palenque breakfast burritos and Cup of Joe’s coffee at the ​Emery County Rec Center. Yogurt parfaits will be provided for gluten-free folks. Included with your festival ticket.
Climbing Meet-Ups and Clinics at 9 am Meet at the Emery County Rec Center. Climbing meetups are all free. Climbing clinics are only $25. Local Artisan Clinic  Makin’ Caramel Apples at 3:30 pm Come join the awesome people from the Forbidden Fruit Sweet Shoppe to dip and decorate your own caramel apple. This one-hour clinic will be at the Emery County Rec Center. Tickets are $10, click here to register. Space limited to 10 participants. Finger Injury Prevention with Carrie Cooper at 4 pm at the Emery County Rec Center climbing wall. Included with your festival ticket. Trade Fair at 5 pm At the Emery County Rec Center lawn. There will be vendor booths, climber games, local artisans, prizes, and giveaways.
Happy Hour with the Athletes at 5 pm Forgot to ask a question or comment on something at your clinic. Didn’t get a chance to make it to one but have a question you want to ask? Then come by the Happy Hour at Emery County Rec Center lawn. Mystery Ranch Climber Games at 6 pm at the Emery County Rec Center lawn. Crate stacking, corn hole, the beam carry and more. Come test your skills and win some awesome prizes.
Castle Dale Ghost Tours at 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm If you didn’t get a chance to take the haunted hay ride last night, you’re in luck. Leaving from the Emery County Rec Center.
Raffle and Closing Party at 7:30 pm; Feeling lucky?! Enter to win some rad prizes from our sponsors, followed by live music from the Mountain Country Band at the Emery County Rec Center lawn.
On Sunday start your day with Coffee and Donuts at 8 am with world-famous Food Ranch donuts at the Mansize parking area in Right Fork. Yogurt parfaits will be provided for gluten-free folks. Free for everyone. Adopt-A-Crag Up with the Access Fund and Salt Lake Climbing Alliance at 9 am Join us (after fueling up with donuts and coffee) at the Mansize parking area in Right Fork. We’ll carpool into the canyon to do a quick morning clean up of ash and garbage. Open to everyone. Event ticket includes swag bag and access to all events excluding clinics, which are sold separately.
