Municipal elections will take place Nov. 7. Huntington City will hold a primary on Aug. 15 to reduce the number of candidates running for city council. They have six candidates running for two open city council spots.
At the primary election, voters will vote for two candidates and the top four vote getters will move on to the general election on Nov. 7.
In Huntington the following persons have filed a Declaration of Candidacy with Huntington City for the office of Mayor (4-year term) and City Council Member two seats available (4-year term).
Those running for city council include: Alease Pierce, Clark Ungerman, Kelly Oveson, Mark Justice, Laneea Cowley and Gloria Wilson. The incumbents for these two seats are Mark Justice and Laneea Cowley. The Primary Election will take place on August 15. For mayor in Huntington current councilmember LaMar Guymon was the only candidate to file. Current mayor Hilary Gordon did not seek re-election.
Clawson Town had the following persons file a declaration of candidacy for the office of: mayor (four year Term) Dean Allen; two council members (four year Term) Casey Jo Reid. Larry Gregersen, one council member (two year Term) Bill Wagner.
In Elmo Town the following individuals have filed Declaration of Candidacy with Elmo Town Clerk, Delena Fish, for the following positions on the Elmo Town Council. Mayor – four year – Randy James Winn; Councilperson – four year – Stoney Jensen Councilperson – four year – Kristine Laws.
In Emery, the following individuals have met the qualifications to be candidates in the Municipal Election to be held on Nov. 7. Mayor (four year term) Dennis S. Stringham, Amy Kristen Sundstrom. Two Council Member (four Year Term): Alyscia Atwood, Mathew B. Jensen, Laura Nelson, Brendan K. Jones.
For the City of Ferron the following individuals have met the qualifications to be candidates in the Municipal Election. Mayor (four year term): Adele Justice; Two council members (four year term): Wendy Price, Hollie D. Smith, Kern Behling, Ryan K. Winn.
The following persons have filed a Declaration of Candidacy with the Castle Dale City Recorder for the office of: four year. Council Member two seats available, Doug Weaver, Julie Johansen. Four year Mayor Kelli Nelson and Danny Van Wagoner.
The City of Green River will hold a Municipal General Election. The offices up for election this year is Mayor (four year term) and two Councilmembers (four year term). Candidates who have filed for election are as follows: Mayor, Patrick Michael Brady City Council Michael B. Silliman and Gary V. Riches.
Write-in candidates have until Sept. 8, to file for office. Each person wishing to become a valid write-in candidate shall declare in person or through a designated agent with the City Recorder at the City Offices located at 460 East Main Street, Green River, Utah. Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. If there are not any write-in candidates then an election will not need to be held.
For Cleveland Town the following individuals have met the qualifications to be candidates in the Municipal Election. Mayor (four year term) Michael Taylor; two-council members (four year term)Kristen Vose, Kallon Cowley; one-Council Member (two year term) Brydi Sharp.
