North Emery High School class of 1957 held a big reunion at Millers Landing in Huntington Utah July 1, 2017. North Emery High School history covers the years of 1934 to 1962 as proclaimed by a large banner at the west end of the hall.
About 1962 the North Emery High School and the South Emery High school were combined into the Emery County High School in Castle Dale.
Chairman Shelton Wakefield presented to the group a list of all the 100 classmates who had attended North Emery High School during the years of 1945 to 1957. Twenty nine of those 100 classmates have since passed away.
The reunion theme was “Do You Remember Those Days”.
Shelton Wakefield started the program by calling the role of class members and a prayer by Bevan Wilson. The class then stood and sang the North Emery High School song accompanied by Shelton Wakefield on an electric piano.
Duane Collard master of ceremonies called upon Helen Fox and Lee McElprang to read the list of the 29 classmates who were no longer with the group.
Each class member was given an opportunity to tell of teachers, classmates or an exciting memorable event that happened during those school years. Yearbooks, photos of students, posters and articles adorned several tables on one side of the hall.
Judy Moss and her husband entertained the group briefly by playing an accordion with a puppet dancing to the music.
An excellent lunch of prime rib and roast turkey was provided by Kent and Julie Wilson from BK’s in Huntington.
