The two Emery Spartan boys underclass basketball teams are enjoying success on the court this year as they work hard to be the future varsity starters.
The Emery JV’s are 8-5 for the season after last weeks win over the Dinos and the sophomores are 7-4 after their victory over Carbon.
The leading scorer for both teams this season is freshman Dave Justice with a 16.8 average with the sophs and a 10.8 average with the JVs. Joey Bernard is the second leading JV scorer with 9.1 ppg and Darin Winn averages 11.6 with the sophs. The JV’s have had six different leading scorers this year while the sophs have had four.
Trevor Tuttle is the leading rebounder followed closely by Bernard for the JVs. Mike Blomquist is the leading assist man and the leader with steals. Tuttle has a big lead in blocks.
For the sophomores, Winn is the leading rebounder followed closely by Vic Rosen. Justice is the leader in steals and assists.
