Elmer J. Larsen

1933 – 2018
Born July 31, 1933 in Emery, Utah. Died Jan. 22, 2018 due to complications of pneumonia. Elmer was the third of nine children born to Elmer Ray and Bertha Mae Larsen.
Graduated from Emery High School and then went on to serve in the army during the Korean War. After returning home, he met the love of his life, Kitty Huntington. They would marry and become the parents to three daughters. Elmer worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Co. for 32 years. During those years he enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, camping, and building a cabin a Joe’s Valley Reservoir. After retiring, he and Kitty moved back to Emery and made a home in Orangeville, Utah. Elmer then went to work at Ferron Millsite Golf Course, where he worked up until a few months before his death. Over the years Elmer became quite an accomplished wood carver. He loved being able to spend his days either on the golf course or in his workshop.
He is survived by his wife Kitty and his daughters Shelly (Kelly) Nattress, Julie Harris, and Lisa (Scott) Mason. He was grandpa to four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Preceded in death by both parents, brother Lyle Larsen, sisters Ora Mae Larsen and Mary Star, and great granddaughter Kylee Renee Hover.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Orangeville 3rd Ward LDS church, (165 West 800 North, Castle Dale, Utah) with a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. There will also be a visitation held Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale. Interment will follow in Orangeville Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary of Emery County. Friends and family may sign the online guestbook and share memories of Elmer at www.fausettmortuary.com.
