Saturday, June 23rd, 9:00 a.m.
We will visit the historic town of Soldier Summit and learn about its tumultuous railroad and mining history as well as the burial site of the town’s namesakes. We will also visit the once rowdy ghost town of Colton; a place so wild, it rivaled Deadwood, South Dakota! We will see some other great landmark places along the railroad tracks as we travel!
Join Bobcat and Kitty from the Eastern Utah Tourism & History Association, the Official Visitor Center of Eastern Utah, as they tell the stories about the Soldier Summit area as only they can! Bring a sack lunch.
We will meet at the Huntington Stake Center on Main Street in Huntington at 9:00 a.m. We will then travel to the Swift Gas Station in Helper and meet others at 10:00 a.m. To keep our caravan of cars as compact as possible, please carpool.
These activities are free to the public and everyone is welcome.
If you would like to join the Historical Society, Annual Dues are still only $5.00/person
