The robotics teams in Emery County have been busy competing and several of them have qualified for the state competition.
All of the teams competed at qualifiers across the State and four are advancing to the State competition. State was held at Weber State on Feb. 10. For FLL, there were four teams competing in Price: Flash Bots (Cleveland Elementary) who walked away with the Team Spirit Award, Team Garry (comprised of kids from Huntington and Castle Dale), Team Sea Bricks (Orangeville and Castle Dale kids), and Team Overflow (made up of fifth and sixth graders from Castle Dale Elementary and San Rafael Middle School who walked away with the Project Award and finished in the top three to advance to State.
Canyon View, San Rafael, Emery High School and Green River High School all had teams compete at the FTC Regional Qualifier in Cedar City. Nuclear Core (San Rafael), TNT (EHS), Canyon View Venomous Cougars, and Too Legit to Quit (GRHS).
Of the four, GRHS, EHS, and SRMS advanced to State.
“The competition was tough with teams from all over the Western United States and this is a pretty big deal for these kids.
“All of the teams did a great job and represented Emery County amazingly well,” said advisors of the Robotics teams.
