Martin Swenson
PRICE-Martin Swenson, age 85, passed away peacefully Tues. Feb. 8, 2005 at Castleview Hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1919, to Alfred Albert and Kate Taylor Swenson in Ferron. Married Una Marx, Aug. 1, 1939 in Sterling, later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple.
Martin has been a long time resident of Carbon County. He worked in the coal mines for 41 years before retiring. For several years he did carpenter work when not at the mines. He was proud of his home of 35 years in Carbonville that he built himself.
Martin enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting during his younger years. He and Una spent several years living in Bullhead, Ariz. during the winter months. Summer months he took great pride in working in his garden and doing projects around the house.
Martin was challenged with black lung for many years but he never let that stop him from achieving his goals. Martin never put his wishbone where his backbone ought to be. He was a man of great integrity. He was always honest and a hard worker. He appreciated his dear neighbors. He loved watching old time western movies and bull riding.
Martin was especially proud of his children and grandchildren, whom he loved very much. He was a special husband, father and grandfather, and his family will treasure those memories.
He is survived by his beloved wife Una Marx Swenson, children Martin Ray (Jeannie) Swenson, Westpoint, Diane (George) Richards, West Jordan, and Faye (Scott) Roberts, South Jordan, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother Jack D. (Cora) Swenson, Spanish Fork, and several nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Sat. Feb. 12, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Spring Glen LDS Chapel. A viewing was held Friday evening and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial was in the Price City Cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for all the love and concerns shown to them during this difficult time.
Opal Toth
JEROME, IDAHO- Opal Inez Toth, 86, of Jerome, Idaho and formerly of Price, passed away Jan. 31, 2005 in Jerome, Idaho. She was born March 6, 1918, in Ludie, Okla. She was one of four sisters and three brothers born to Albert and Jeffie Hanley, all of whom preceded her in death. Opal married Frank Toth in August 1934. They were together until Frank’s death in April 2002. They had two daughters, Barbara and Beverlee, both of whom preceded her in death.
Opal is survived by her five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Opal was loved by her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary and Crematory, 1343 South Lincoln, Jerome, Idaho, 83338.
Pat Hillas
PRICE-Our loving mother, yiayia, aunt and friend to all, Patricia Dragatis Hillas, age 76, passed away on Feb. 11, 2005, at home while surrounded by her loving family. Born July 19, 1928 in Price, to Harry Nicholas and Efthemia Zaganas Dragatis. She married John Hillas, May 14, 1950 in Price; he died May 11, 1974.
Pat was an active member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church where she was a member of the Philoptochos Society. Lifelong resident of Carbon County, where she attended Notre Dame School and graduated from Carbon High School in 1946. She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary. As a prominent businesswoman, she worked with her husband and family at the MECCA Club and Cafe since 1961. She enjoyed traveling with her family and visiting with friends. Pat had a great love for family, friends and especially her grandchildren.
Survived by 10 children, George (Marcella) Hillas, Efthemia (Mike) Bruno, Elizabeth (Ron) Howes, Harry (Barbara) Hillas, Andrew Hillas, Elaine Hillas, Kathryn (Keith) Lawrence, Steve (Angie) Hillas, John Hillas, Patrick Hillas; two sisters, Mary Vatsis and Kathryn Halamandaris; sister-in-law, Mary Tervo; brother-in-law, Mike Stavros; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Nicholas Dragatis; and great-grandson, Seth Howes.

Funeral service Thurs. Feb. 17, 2005 at 1 p.m. in the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. The family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. with the Trisagion prayer service at 7 p.m. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 688, Price Utah, 84501.

Leah Sitterud Justesen
ORANGEVILLE-Leah Sitterud Justesen, age 91, was blessed to be able to return home to her Heavenly Father on Feb. 13, 2005. She was born in Orangeville, to Ole W. and Caroline Tatton Sitterud on Aug. 20, 1913. She married Russell (Shep) Justesen in the Manti LDS Temple Oct. 29, 1936 and they were married for 57 years and together had six children, five of whom survive them: Annalee and Dick Jones of Orangeville, Karl and Gloria Justesen of Salem, Alice and Tim Blackham of Murray, Ralph and Rebecca Justesen and Kathryn and Tracy Addley, all of Orangeville.
Leah loved her children and was proud of their accomplishments. She adored her 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and she was blessed with three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Russell and two grandchildren.
Leah lived her entire life in Orangeville. As an active member of the LDS Church she loved serving in the Primary, especially in the boy’s programs. She spent many years as the Compassionate Service Leader and loved being a Visiting Teacher in the Relief Society.
Funeral services will be on Thurs., Feb. 17, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Orangeville LDS Chapel where friends may call from 10-10:45 prior to services. Burial will be in the Orangeville Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
The family wishes to express gratitude and great appreciation to the workers at the Emery County Care and Rehab. Center who lovingly and tenderly cared for our mother.
