Local Emergency crews honored for work on Greyhound bus crash

Providing Quality Emergency Service: Honoring Utah’s First Responders

The Utah Department of Health Bureau of EMS and Preparedness will honor those who have dedicated their lives to helping others during an emergency. Among the honorees are first responders from Emery County Ambulance, Emery County Fire Protection District, Emery County Sheriff’s Office, Utah Highway Patrol, and the Sevier County EMS who responded to a Greyhound bus crash on December 31, 2017. First responders will also be recognized for responding to an incident involving the rescue of a base jumper who was seriously injured when he hit a wall.
Every year, the UDOH BEMSP gathers nominations for emergency responders and dispatchers whose accomplishments during the prior year stand out as going above and beyond the call of duty. Awards will be given for Outstanding Performance in a Mass Emergency Medical Incident, Emergency Physician, Paramedic, EMT, Dispatcher, Instructor, and several other distinguished service awards.
The award ceremony was in Draper at 10 a.m. at the Living Planet Aquarium.
