On Feb. 2, Emery County Clerk/Auditor Bruce Funk swore in Emery County’s new Justice Court judge. Steven L. Stream, of Huntington, was sworn into the office of Precinct One Judge in the Justice Court courtroom.
Commissioner Ira Hatch, along with Commissioners Gary Kofford and Drew Sitterud, Sheriff Lamar Guymon, and many county employees watched the ceremony. Judge Betty Burns, of Green River, who has been filling in the position since the death of Judge Stan Truman, was also on hand for the swearing in.
“I appreciate the time and effort everyone has put into this process to get us to this point,” said Commissioner Hatch. He also stated that Judge Stream has completed all necessary training and certification and is ready to begin the appointment.
Judge Stream said, “I have enjoyed all the years I have spent in public service and with all the support I have received from everyone around me, I anticipate doing a very successful job in this position.”
