Miss Heritage Days
The Miss Heritage Days scholarship pageant will be held June 30. Girls ages 1-24 are wanted in six different age groups. Every contestant will receive cash or prizes. Mrs. Utah Pageant

Emery’s Pioneer Day Celebration
Emery will once again be honoring July 24 with a celebration. We had such a wonderful response to our arts, crafts, and food booths last year that we are welcoming everyone to participate againg this year. Set up your booth or table and sell your wares. There is no charge. Just call the Emery Town Office at 286-2417 to register your booth or table so we will know how many to expect. Ask your friends and neighbors to join in the fun. It’s a great place to sell your products and have a good time doing it.
Food Handler’s Classes
There will be a food handler’s classes for all persons working in food serving establishments. The classes will be taught in Price on May 17 at 9 a.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. at the Southeastern Utah District Health Department, 28 South 100 East. Classes will also be taught in Castle Dale on May 19 at 4 and 7 p.m., at the health department located at 25 West Main Street. Craft and Merchandise Vendors Wanted
Vendors wanted for the Emery County Fair to be held Aug. 4-6. Large crowds expected. Security will be provided 24 hours a day, so daily load out is not required. Project ChildSafe
Project ChildSafe, sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation will be distributing free gun locks throughout Emery County. Members of the community may call their local law enforcement agency for information on how to obtain a free gun lock.

Utah Humanities Council Road Scholar
Requesting a free speaker from the Utah Humanities Council is easy. Log on to www.utahhumanities.org/programs at least one month prior to the proposed event and complete the request form. Following the program, an evaluation must be filled out.
AA and NA Meetings

Emery County Recreation is registering for 2005 Men’s softball league to be played at Huntington Softball Complex beginning May 31. Registration must be received by May 20 at the Rec Office located at 75 South 400 East, Castle Dale. Mens league will be a wood bat league. Only wood bats will be allowed. CASA Volunteers Needed
Each year hundreds of children in Emery and Carbon counties become wards of the juvenile court system due to child abuse, neglect or abandonment. The child welfare system can only devote so much time and attention to each individual case and, consequently, to each individual child. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Volunteers are ordinary men and women who find it in their hearts and their schedules to help these abused and neglected children. Eyeglasses for Lions Club
