County Gears up for July 24

Cleveland Days will be begin July 19 at 5 p.m. with a family barbeque, sidewalk art contest, and a friendly basketball game in the park; July 20 at 6 p.m. in the park, 10 or 20 mile sidewalk race, and a youth dance featuring Al Shakespaere; July 21 at 4 p.m. a trap shoot at Shen Jensen’s, and at 6 p.m. co-ed softball at the park; July 22 at 5 p.m. bike races for all ages at the park, 6 p.m. a pot luck lamb fry, and at 8:30 p.m. a free dance featuring Keele N Time; July 23 at 9 a.m. a flag raising ceremony at the park, 7:30-9:30 a.m. breakfast; 10 a.m. a children’s parade, 10:30 a.m. the big parade, noon will be games, races, waterslide, horseshoes, lunch, volleyball, and much more in the park; at 7 p.m. a karaoke contest and music by Encore in the school yard; then to top off the week, fireworks at dusk. New this year, a traveling trophy and bragging rights, to be awarded to the family with the most members present, who sign the registration book, on July 23 at Cleveland Days. Orangeville Day-July 23
Orangeville Day will be held July 23. The theme is “Back to the Good Ole’ Days.” Flag ceremony-6:45 a.m.; breakfast following flag ceremony; 9:30 a.m.-childrens parade; big parade at 10 a.m.; in the park following the parade, will be games for all ages, concessions, and a lot of fun. The famous Humphrey Brothers lamb fry will begin at 5 p.m. and entertainment will be provided. To finish the day, fireworks at the rodeo grounds in Castle Dale.
