Letter to the Editor: Deportation and heartless

By KENNETH JENKS Green River

Editor,
I have known the Sah family for eight years. When I was overwhelmed with my 50 to 60 hour a week job I could visit someone who worked more hours than I did and recieve calm straight forward advice and a cup of tea.
I understand there are rules and regulations to be obeyed, still there is something seriously wrong with our system when sincere, honest, hard working people are deported without ceremony from a nation that was founded by immigrants, from a state dominated by immigrants and seemingly proud of it.
Small towns across America are dealing with methamphetamines. Every day I see more rural young families slipping below the poverty level. To deport without ceremony a traditional nuclear family who has created jobs and community stability makes no business sense.
If nothing else it gives us the appearance of heartlessness.
