Madge Guymon
HUNTINGTON-Madge Guymon, age 81, our loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away after a short illness. She was born Aug. 12, 1924 in Huntington to Joseph B. and Alice Allen Johnson. She married Starr Hal Guymon July 14, 1943 in Baltimore, Md., and later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Madge was very active in her church and community. She served as ward and stake choir director for 43 years as well as in various other church callings. She served on the State Library Committee and helped establish all the libraries in Emery County. She loved gardening and was currently serving on the Huntington City Beautification Committee. She served on the State Farm Bureau Womens Committee for 19 years. Above all else, she loved her family and most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
Madge is survived by her husband Hal of Huntington and children and their spouses: Courtney and Vee Guymon of Huntington; Lamar and Gayla Guymon of Huntington; Kay and David Phillips of Heber City; Vaughn Guymon also of Huntington; and 64 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister Enid Migliori of Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by son Larry, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held May 6, 2006 at 1 p.m. in the Huntington Stake Center where friends called one hour prior to services. Burial was in the Huntington Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Mary Sunter
HELPER- Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and longtime friend, Mary Parcich Sunter, passed away May 2, 2006 at the Castle Country Care Center in Price at the age of 90. She was born Aug. 22, 1915 in Sesser, Ill. to Emil and Annie Krizman Parcich. Married Martin Sunter, April 13, 1937 in Price; he died July 19, 1999.
Member of the Catholic Church. Devoted member S.N.P.J. Lodge #689 for 75 years. Mary was a Den Mother for the Helper Cub Scouts Troop #3001 for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and making povitica for her family and friends.
Survived by her daughter, Jean Boyack, Helper; son, Emil Sunter, Helper; sister, Emma Merkley, Rohnert Park, Calif.; grandchildren, Tom (Johnna) Boyack, Helper; Wendy (Colin) Morf, Hillsborough, Calif.; Emil (Crissy) Sunter, Carbonville; Jason (Amy) Jensen, Salt Lake City; and eight loving great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, infant son, son-in-law, Pace Boyack.
Funeral Mass, Sat., May 6, 2006 10 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper. Vigil service, Friday evening 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family was at Mitchell’s Friday and Saturday one hour prior to service. Committal service, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper.
Alan Birch
HUNTINGTON- Alan Birch, age 42, passed away suddenly May 3, 2006 at his home.
He was born Dec. 4, 1963 in Price to Arthur “Bill” and Erma Cunningham Birch.
Married Karryn Young, Jan. 25, 1993 in Castle Dale; their marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple on Feb. 5, 2000; they later divorced.
Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Alan’s family was his life, he was the happiest when he was with his children. He enjoyed every moment he spent with his family and friends, and his fondest memories were those that he shared with Jordan, John T. and Gracie. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, riding horses and motorcycles and spending time on the desert.
He is survived by his children, Jordan Birch; John Taylor Birch; Gracie Birch; mother, Erma Birch, all of Huntington; six sisters and two brothers, Terri (Blair) Cook, Huntington; Gary (Kathy) Birch, Cleveland; Gloria (Joe) Neal, Illinois; Debra (Al) Wilcken, Salt Lake City; Linda (Marc) Stevens, Huntington; Evon (Joel) White, Price; Veronica (David) Ames, Huntington; Jerry (Mindy) Birch, Huntington; ex-wife, Karryn Birch, Huntington; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alan was preceded in death by his father, Bill Birch.
Graveside service, Mon. May 8, 11 a.m., Huntington City Cemetery. Family was at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. Under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
Alice Vigil
HELPER-Alice Janet Ortiz Vigil, age 53, passed away May 6, 2006 while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 11, 1952 in Albuquerque, N.M. to Arthur and Carrie Gonzales Ortiz.
Married Elmer Vigil, Nov. 11, 1970 in Albuquerque, N.M.
Alice’s warmth and caring personality enabled her to make new friends wherever she went. She had a great love for her family and was dearly loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed decorating her home, shopping, going on walks, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Survived by her husband, Elmer Vigil, Helper; daughter, Carrie (Shawn) Mecham, Spring Glen; son, Edward (Sylvia) Vigil, Los Lunas, N.M.; father, Arthur Ortiz, brothers, Albert (Sadie) Ortiz, Arthur (Sue) Ortiz, John Ortiz, all of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Lupe (Vincent) Bonilla, Belen, N.M. and five loving grandchildren, Isabella Vigil, Albert Jeffs, Antonio Mecham, Amber and Derek Fralick.
She was preceded in death by her mother, sister, Angie; four brothers, Herman, Eddie, George, and Ernie.

Jack M. Vignetto
PRICE- Jack M. Vignetto, age 84, passed away at home May 2, 2006 “after a few too many birthdays.”
He was born Nov. 4, 1921 in Helper to John B. and Gladys Smith Vignetto.
Married Athena Georgedes, Feb. 14, 1943 in Price.
Member Carbon Lodge #16 F. & A.M. of Utah, where he was also a member of the El Kalah Shrine and York Rite. He was a life member Price Elk’s Lodge #1550 and a member of the Carbon County Sheriff’s Posse. Jack loved the outdoors, skiing, fly fishing, hunting and to his family he was “King of the Cowboys.” His true love was his loving wife, Athena of 63 years.
Jack was a loving, caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family and a community of friends.
Survived by his wife, Athena Vignetto, Price; daughter, Danielle (Brian) Bean-Schiller, Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; grandson, Darren Bruce (Stacey) Bean M.D., Madison Wis.; two great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Parker Bean; sister, Jill Crowfoot, Reno, Nev.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held Sat. June 24, 2006 at 11 a.m. Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Saturday one half hour prior to services. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper.
