Rabies Clinic


Cleveland residents are required to license their dogs by Feb. 28. All dogs must have proof of current rabies shots to be licensed. Persons failing to do so are subject to a $15 fine in addition to regular fees. This late fee will be enforced as of March 1. The town will sponsor a rabies clinic on Jan. 26 from 1-3 p.m. at the Cleveland Cemetery storage building, 200 North 600 East by the cemetery in Cleveland.

Outreach to Veterans


John Maher, department service officer for the Disabled American Veterans will be providing assistance in Price on Jan. 23, at the Workforce Office, 475 West Price River Drive, #265, from 8-11 a.m. or you may call 801-359-8168 to know which documents you will need to bring or to have questions answered.

Historical Society Meets


The Emery County Historical Society, one of the three largest in the state of Utah, meets monthly featuring special guest speakers, sponsors historic projects and treks, and is holding their semi-annual elections and annual membership drive on Jan. 24, at the Museum of the San Rafael at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Mark H. Williams, who will expound on his new book which helps readers understand and tour the San Rafael Swell. Town/County Meeting


Four Corners Community Mental Health Center will be holding a town meeting on Jan 24, at 6 p.m. in the Castle Dale Senior Citizens Center. The purpose is to review for citizens the mental health and substance abuse services that are currently in place and to receive input from the public concerning these services as well as ideas to enhance or add services. The Emery High Peer Helpers will entertain; light refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Huntington Rabies Clinic


Huntington 2002 dog licenses are now due. On Jan. 26, from 9 a.m.-Noon is the first Rabies Clinic at the fire station. Purchase licenses at city hall. You will need proof of your pet’s current rabies vaccination. Call 687-2436 for more information.

American Legion Contest


The American Legion Oratorical Contest will be held in February in Salt Lake City. The contest begins at the local level and is for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Ask your school counselor or contact a member of your local American Legion Post or call Naomi Fletcher at 801-567-1102. Many scholarships are given and prizes at local level also.

MS Volunteers Needed


Do you or someone you care about have an interest in attending a self help group but there isn’t one? Help yourself/help others to personal knowledge and understanding of Multiple Sclerosis by volunteering to start an MS group in our area. Interested? D.R.O.P.S. Day

Locals Exhibit Art


Gallery East at the College of Eastern Utah presents local reknowned artists, Thomas Elmo Williams and David Richey Johnsen, featuring works of local interest and places, which will run from Jan. 8-31.
