A would-be robber of the Woodside Gas Station fled the scene of the crime Nov. 20 after exchanging gunfire with the owner of the store.
The owner of the station called the Emery County Sheriff’s Office after the attempted robbery on the evening of Nov. 20. He reported after exchanging gunfire with the robber the suspect had fled on foot while the owner was calling for help.
Capt. Kyle Ekker, Sgt. Gayle Jensen, Deputy John Spinney and detectives Bob Blackburn and Jeff Thomas from the sheriff’s office responded to the scene with the assistance of Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Chris Parkins, but were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s, approximately 5 foot 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, with shoulder length brown hair which was combed back. He was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans and was armed with a small caliber hand gun.
