A Castle Dale woman was involved in a car accident the morning of Feb. 25. The accident occured on State Route 6 at mile post 210.
According to Trooper Dave Brinkerhoff, two vehicles were traveling eastbound up the hill where there are the two passing lanes. The weather was clear and dry. There was however a high wind which had created a large snow drift at mile post 210.
The 1998 Oldsmobile Rivera driven by Helen Wilberg was in the passing lane in the process of passing a Dodge Durango SUV from Colorado. The Wilberg vehicle hit the snow drift causing it to lose control and crash into the left side of the SUV. The SUV swung around and the Wilberg vehicle then came into contact with the passenger side of the SUV. The Wilberg vehicle then left the road and proceeded 100 feet down the side of the hill.
Wilberg was taken to Castleview Hospital where she was released with no injuries. None of the passengers in the SUV were injured. All occupants of the two vehicles were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident reported Brinkerhoff.
