Concerned Citizens


As many of you have enjoyed countless hours of recreation at the Millsite State Park, concerned citizens would like your opinions about the announcement to close it. Phantom of the Opera

Immunization Policy Changes


Effective April 1, the co-pay for VFC immunizations will increase. Medicaid and CHIP can still be billed; must show your card at time of visit. For prices and if you have other questions please call the Southeastern Utah Health Department prior to your visit for immunizations, 381-2252.

Benefit Yard Sale


Cottonwood Elementary in Orangeville is holding a benefit yard sale for Christy Bingham’s daughter Anna and husband Larry Johansen, who have tiny twins who are still in intensive care. Bingham’s fellow teachers and the students would like to help this family so the yard sale will be held April 4, from Noon through 6 p.m. Please bring your donation items to the school on April 2 and 3.

Habitat Happenings


Habitat for Humanity of Castle Country will hold a Clean-up Day starting at 9 a.m. on two lots in Valley View subdivision in Castle Dale on April 6. Science and Bible Seminar


Castle Dale Independent Baptist Church presents “Science and the Bible Seminar” by Dr. Bob Glenn on April 7, 10-noon and 7-7:30 p.m., and April 8 and 9 at 7-8:30 p.m. at the Castle Dale Senior Citizens Building. Take a look at the scientific evidence which explains the formation of this world and its orderly function; a question and answer time after each seminar.

Campdale DUP Meeting

Benefit Concert


Snow College “Ascension” Show Choir will present its Broadway Review and other up-beat musical numbers on Mon., April 8, at 7 p.m. at the Emery High Auditorium. Special performances by local talent. This is a community service project sponsored by Miss Emery County, Barbara Burke. Proceeds will be donated to support child/youth mentoring programs in Emery County. Girls Softball Sign-ups

MS Walk/Walkers


You can walk for MS (Multiple Sclerosis), sponsor a walker or make a donation. This year’s 4.7 mile walk will be in Provo on April 20, at 9:30 a.m., starting at Fort Utah Park at 100 North Geneva Road. EHS Blood Drive


Roll up your sleeves and circle April 23 on your calendar. Its our turn to help make sure there is a good supply of blood when needed for our area. The Sterling Scholars are in charge and will help conduct the drive at the high school from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Take a friend to lunch and give blood on the way.

Volunteers Needed


Bored? Nothing to do? Emery County Care and Rehabilitation in Ferron is looking for volunteers to spend time with our residents, to read, talk, and walk with them. If you play the piano, or have any other talents you would like to share with them, please call Tracy, Ileen, or Norma at 384-2301.

Beautification Cleanup


Castle Dale is conducting its Spring Beautification Cleanup. Dumpsters will be at Center and 200 North, 600 North 75 East, 200 West 630 North, and at rodeo grounds100 South 325 East. No curb-side pickup this year; call City Hall if you have something that will not fit in dumpster! The Burn Window continues through April 27. Due to drought conditions, there will be water restrictions; plan your planting and watering needs now.

Booster Car Seats Available


Booster Car Seats for children 4-8 years old and 40-80 pounds are available by calling Terry Bennett at the Southeastern Utah District Health Department at 381-2252. Know if your car has lap/shoulder belts in the back seat, head rests or high back seat.

Getting Ready Early


We are getting ready for Peach Days at the Emery County Care and Rehabilitation Center. If you would like to be on our team and donate your talents, we would love to have you. Help us make quilts, decorate pillowcases, do craft items, that will go to our Annual Bazaar to raise money for our residents’ garden projects. Please call Tracy, Norma, or Ileen at 384-2301.

Miss Emery County


Miss Emery County Scholarship Pageant is taking applications for participants. If you are interested in participating and will be at least 17 years old by July 20. Mrs. Utah Pageant Coming


You can compete for the title Mrs. Utah America. The purpose of a Mrs.Utah is to celebrate the beauty and intelligence of married women. Mrs. Utah America 1999, Starla Kay Stanley, went on to win the Mrs. World crown. The pageant will take place in June in Salt Lake City.
