Emery County Landfill


Business hours for the Emery County Landfill are Tues-Fri., 9 a.m.-5:15 p.m. and on Sat., 8 a.m to 4:15 p.m. Closed on Mondays and on July 4. For questions call 381-2719.

Huntington City


Huntington City secondary water schedule. There will be no watering from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There may be severe water shortage this year. It is a violation to allow water to run onto land owned by another person or onto city streets. Anyone wasting water will be subject to penalties.

Swimming Pool Hours


The Castle Dale Swimming Pool is open! Aquasize, Mon.-Fri. 8-9 p.m; Open Swim, Mon. and Wed., 4-7 p.m., and Sat., Noon-7 p.m.; Monday Family Night 7-9 p.m. Lap Swim, Mon-Fri., 6-7:30 p.m. For more information call the pool at 381-5298.

Benefit Planned


A benefit for Billee Jones Kessler will be held on May 4, at the Huntington Senior Center with dinner between 5-7 p.m. (affordable individual and family meal) followed by an auction and raffle. Donations for the auction are needed. Monitary donations can be made at Wells Fargo in Castle Dale on Billee’s behalf. Music provided by Encore Music and Karaoke. Infant/Children Immunization Day


There will be a Infant/Children Immunization Day on May 13 at the Public Health Office, 25 West Main Street, Castle Dale from 8:30-11:30 and 1:30- 4:30. We accommodate Medicaid, CHIP, and will bill PEHP with an appropriate card shown at time of visit. There will be a fee and cap per client per visit if your insurance doesn’t pay for immunizations. If your medical insurance covers immunizations you must pay full price or be referred to primary care provider.

Business Conference


Senator Bob Bennett and the Center for Rural Life at Southern Utah University will host the first annual Rural Utah Business Technology Conference at the Hunter Conference Center on the SUU campus in Cedar City on May 28 and 29. Bookcliff Muzzleloaders


Bookcliff Muzzleloaders will hold their annual spring shoot on May 3,4,and 5 at the Buckhorn Draw. Shooting starts Sat. morning at 9 a.m.There will be silhouettes and paper targets, mountain man run, candy cannon and tomahawk throw. Lifeguarding Class

Veterans, Widows and Dependents


A officer from Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Department Service Office will be here to assist you in understanding and applying for rightful VA benefits, preparing and documenting application for compensation, pension, hospitalization and other benefits. This is free and veterans need not to be members of VFW. This will be held on May 22, at the Price Workforce Service Center from 9-10:30 a.m.

Graduation Night Party/Dance


May 23 is the night to celebrate graduation in the old gym at Emery High School. Following graduation, music by “Beat of Time” will play for a dance. Free pizza, drinks, snacks, and door prizes for all, sponsored by the Peer Helper Club. No alcohol or drugs will be allowed.
