The Green River Golf Team recently finished a successful season. Coach Blaine Luke said, “We finished first in our region and third in state. We won all of our region tournaments except one. We won by at least 25 strokes and sometimes 50-60. Jason Luke at the state tournament shot a 73 which was one over par. Jason was named to the all-state second team and was the tournament champion. Gabrin Ekker was an honorable mention on the all-state list. The kids all did really well. We are looking forward to next year because we only lose one golfer to graduation. This is the fifth year of the golf program and we have finished in the top four at state all but the first year we had the team.” Varsity players included: Jason Luke, Bowman Mitchell, Gabrin Ekker, Lance Richards and Steve Burnett. Junior Varsity players included: Jerome Burns, Michael Burnett, Cody Webster, Kimberly Nelson, Rachel Nelson and CJ Vetere.
