The Utah Department of Transportation has contracted with Nielson Construction to begin two projects on State Route 10. Construction of the $2.28 million project will begin on June 24 and will include the following work:
A passing lane will be added to SR 10, the lane will stretch two miles north and one and a half miles south of the Hiawatha Junction, State Route 122. No lane closures are scheduled at this time; flaggers will eventually be placed to facilitate movement of construction equipment.
A new bridge will be constructed on SR 10 at the Orangeville turnoff. The bridge will allow turning lanes to be added from SR 10 to the Lawrence Road. No lane closures are expected at this time. Flaggers will eventually be placed to facilitate movement of construction equipment.
UDOT advises motorists to reduce speeds and use caution when driving through work zones. Work schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather, equipment problems or emergency situations. They also remind motorists that fines are double for speeding through a work zone.
