Keith Herzog
SALT LAKE CITY – Keith Fenton Herzog passed peacefully at home at the age of 55 in Salt Lake City.
God took the strength of a mountain
The majesty of a tree
The warmth of a summer sun
The calm of a quiet sea
The generous soul of nature
The comforting arm at night
The wisdom of the ages
The power of the eagles’ flight
Then God combined these qualities
His masterpiece was now complete
I’ve lovingly called him Keith
Keith was born June 17, 1947 to Charlotte and George J. Herzog in Salt Lake City. He married his best friend and constant companion, Evelyn Reed Herzog, Sept. 16, 1969.
Keith had a long sales career, where he made numerous friends. He was employed by ADT at the time of his passing.
Boating, ice hockey, scuba diving, sky diving, riding his Harley Davidson and, most of all, his dedication to the game of golf, were some of his favorite pastimes that he enjoyed doing with family and friends. His charm, genuineness and beautiful head of hair will be remembered by all as trademarks of Keith. He was very proud of his “Wings at 16” trophy presented for attaining a pilot’s license before he earned his driver’s license. At the age of 19, he found sky diving, a sport he treasured in the innermost part of his soul, logged more than 450 jumps and made numerous longstanding friends. He enjoyed boating with Evelyn. They began with a small sail boat, which led to a cabin cruiser, the Cee Gee III, where fishing and water skiing were favorites.
His passion for golf and love of travel led him to invent and design a golf travel bag under the company name of The Golf Travel Bag. In 1985, he joined Hidden Valley Country Club, where he enjoyed countless rounds of golf with Evelyn and friends.
His FXR became his last sport – he loved riding as well as showing which gave him great pleasure. His bike received four first place trophies and one best overall paint trophy.
He will be missed by all family members and friends whose lives he touched.
Left behind are his most priceless treasures, Evelyn (Fred), of Salt Lake City; mother, Charlotte Herzog of Price; sisters, Christine (Jerry) Hurd, Port Sydney, Canada; Coleen Herzog and brother Scott (Laurey), both of Price; numerous loving in-laws; innumerable friends; and best “little friend,” 5-year-old Nicholas Story, who shared every outdoor chore, hockey and especially motorcycle riding. “Niki, I wish you the very best life offers and all your dreams realized.” He was preceded in death by sister Karen (infant); and father, George J. Herzog.
Keith courageously fought to stay with us and humbly accepted a greater will. A husband, son, brother and friend, we have not lost. Rather, we welcome to be blessed by his presence in life’s journey onward.
Keith Fenton, may all your drives be straight, all your putts drop and your Harley Davidson never run out of gas – God speed.
A farewell service was held Saturday, June 29, 10 a.m., at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Friends joined the family for hugs and last good-byes Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary and one hour prior to the service.
Grave dedication will be at Larkin Sunset Lawn immediately following the service.
Esther Sanich
EAST CARBON – Esther Sartor Sanich, age 84, passed away June 29, 2002 in Provo.
She was born April 15, 1918 to Ralph and Mary Mazzarise Sartor in Walsenburg, Colo. Married Rudolph Joseph Sanich June 30, 1934 in Walsenburg, Colo. He died Feb. 14, 1990.
Member of the Catholic Church and Good Shepherd Altar Society.
She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and visiting with her friends. Her favorite pastime of late was sharing her love with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be missed dearly by her family and many friends.
Survived by her daughter, Lois (Marty) Casella, East Carbon City; sons, Larry (Debbie) Sanich, Sandy; Ralph (Christine) Sanich, Olympia, Wash.; sister, Wilma (John) Carsella, Pueblo, Colo.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass Wednesday, July 3, 10 a.m., Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Vigil service Tuesday evening, 7 p.m., at the church in East Carbon. Family will be at the church Tuesday and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Price City Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
Twanna Ann Lackey
SUNNYSIDE – Twanna Ann Lackey Rodriguez, age 43, passed away June 27, 2002 at her home.
She was born Oct. 2, 1958 to Emmett and Bonnie Marsh Rodriguez in Redding, Calif.
Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Twanna was a loving and caring person who enjoyed helping her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and buying special items for her nieces and nephews.
Twanna had a special love for the outdoors and animals.
She is survived by three sons, Emilio Lackey, Tyler Polito, Brenden Polito; parents, Emmett and Bonnie Rodriguez, all of Sunnyside; brother, Doug Lackey, Newcastle, Colo.; five sisters, Wendy Palacios, Newcastle, Colo.; Tammy Tinoco, La Puenta, Calif.; Dianna Naranjo, Salt Lake; Maryann Garcia, Sunnyside; Amber Cordova, Rifle, Colo; 18 nieces and nephews, two great-nieces and six great-nephews.
Funeral service Tuesday, July 2, 11 a.m., East Carbon LDS Ward. Family will be at the church Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment Valley View Cemetery, Sunnyside, under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.

Dora Carling Robison
FILLMORE – Dora Carling Robison died June 30, 2002. She was born Aug. 5,1902 to Franklin and Lucy Ann Barkdull Carling in Fillmore. She graduatedfrom Millard High School. She married Albert Robison April 16,1921. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
In 1942 they moved their family to Provo, they operated a service station on the corner of West Center and Geneva Road. In 1946 they moved closer to BYU where Dora started to work in the food service. She worked at BYU for 24 years. She was an avid sports fan and did not miss many BYU basketball games. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers both in Fillmore and Provo. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a visiting teacher for 65 years and held several teaching positions. After she retired she moved back to Fillmore for nine years, then returned to Provo and lived at the Cove Point Retirement Center. She has spent the last 11 years at Heritage Care Center in American Fork.
She is survived by sons Phillip G. (Jean), Floyd A.(Reva), Dale C. (Sharon) and a daughter, Elaine Robison Scott. Two step-daughters, Evelyn Runswick and Katheryn Smith. She has 19 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, and two children, Lyle Robison and Norma(Don) West; four step-sons, Clark, Marion, Max, and R.L. Robison, son-in-law,Vernon L. Scott; daughter-in-law, Mary Jean Robison, Brothers, Norval and Bert Carling, sisters, Grace Willden, Hattie Ivie, Portia Brinkerhoff and Leona Brinkerhoff, one great-grandchild, Travis Robison.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2002, at 11 a.m., in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo. Friends may call on Saturday morning one hour prior to the services. Interment, Fillmore City Cemetery.
