For the past year the Museum of the San Rafael in Castle Dale has been the center of artistic creativity as work has been underway to create a colorful new exhibit.
The entire east wall of the exhibit hall is alive with a panorama mural of the San Rafael Swell. Artist, Clifford E. Oviatt, has spent many months painting Bottle Neck Peak and Window Blind Peak, with the San Rafael River running through the mural. Adding to the mural, is a desert scene showing new animals in their natural habitat along the entire base of the mural. The public is welcome to share in the celebration on July 10. There will be a reception at 6 p.m. and a program at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Ron Hodson, with the Division of Wildlife Resources who will tell participants all there is to know about Bighorn Sheep.
