A dutch oven cook-off was held on Aug. 3 as part of the Emery County Fair celebration. Richard Anderson from Wellington took charge of the event. He is a dutch oven cook from way back. The competitors fixed a dessert, main dish and bread as part of the competition. The dishes were judged by local food experts and then offered to fair goers to sample. This is the first dutch oven cook-off and fair organizers hope to continue the competition next year. Competitors prepared their dishes on-site and cooked them with charcoal briquettes. Anderson said, “It was a pleasure to work with Emery Countycitizens.
