The Emery High Golf Team hosted a region meet at Millsite Golf Course on Sept. 5. Four other schools, Carbon, Lehi, North Sanpete, and Delta, attended this 18 hole tournament.
Emery High’s roster includes, Mike Reid, Kendrick Wilson, Darrell Swasey, Scott Lofley, Wylee Merrell, Conlee Luke, Zac Gasser, Chandler Pearson, Louis Duke and Dereck Brotherson.
Each team from these five schools hosts a meet on their home course during the season. The team from Emery travels to Sunset View Golf Course in Delta, Palisade Golf Course in North Sanpete, Carbon Country Club in Price, and Thanksgiving Point in Lehi.
Coach Duane Merrell says this team has a lot of potential and looks to have a great season. They have only a couple of seniors, so the team is a little younger, but they are really excited about this year.
The team from Delta won first place at this meet, with Lehi coming in second. Emery High took third place, Carbon placed fourth and North Sanpete took fifth place.
Emery’s golf team’s next meet will be on Sept. 12 at Palisade. The two remaining meets will be Sept. 16 at Thanksgiving Point and Sept. 26 at Sunset View.
