Eagle Scout Project

Domestic Violence Coalition
The 4th annual Program in the Park, Oct. 16, Noon-1 p.m. in the Castle Dale City Park ( in case of inclement weather, it will be in the Courthouse). The topic is “How domestic violence traumatizes victims and families” and the speaker will be Daniel Detton, a practicing psycotherapist and author. Lunch will be provided. The Huntington D.U.P. will have their meeting Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Building.
Monte Gee Fundraiser
Friends of Monte Gee are hosting a dinner, auction and raffle to raise funds for liver transplant. Everyone is welcome Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Emery County Recreation Center. Castle Dale Fire Dept. Open House
Castle Dale Fire Department will host an open house for National Fire Prevention Week Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. They will have demonstrations of some of the rescue techniques that are used during an emergencyto begin at 5 p.m.. Free drinks, hotdogs, popcorn, prizes, and games.
Farm Bureau Annual Business Meeting
The Emery County Farm Bureau will be holding its annual business and policy development meeting and banquet on Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. at Huntington Elementary. This year’s guest speaker will be Leland Hogan, Utah Farm Bureau Federation President. Policy recommendations will be considered on issues of local, state and national significance. Education Program
Joy Mining Machinery has developed an award winning education program that is of benefit to students and teachers. The program informs students and teachers about the benefits of mining, and the important role minerals play in their everyday lives.

Orangeville D.U.P.
Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Rock Canyon Trail Camp (Orangeville) will hold its regular monthy meeting Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Orangeville City Hall. Open to all area women who want to learn more about Utah and area history and meet new people. The Orangeville Camp meets the 2nd Mon. of each month; same time; same place.

Rocky Mountain School of Baseball
The Rocky Mountain School of Baseball announces its annual Fall Extravaganza Tournaments in Mesquite, Nev. and St. George. Castle Dale Library will host story hour every other Friday at 10:30 a.m. Story hour will begin on Sept. 20, and it will be held Oct. 4 and 18, Nov. 1 and 15, and Dec. 6 and 20.

U.S.D.A. Website for Those Needing Hay
USDA has developed an internet website for producers of livestock that “need/have” hay, haying or grazing available. The website is located at www.fsa.usda.gov and has a quick link titled FSA HayNet. This is available to assist livestock producers in finding needed hay or grazing.

Support Group
Bringing hope to single moms support group and self-reliance class now being offered in Castle Dale. Open to the public free of charge. It will be held on Thursday evenings from 7-8 p.m. There will be on site child care available with prior notice.
