Ropers from around the area gathered at the Castle Dale Rodeo Grounds on Oct. 5 to raise funds for Blaine Jensen. It was a beautiful autumn day as the 257 teams gathered to rope the steers and enjoy the company of the other cowboys and cowgirls. There was a concession stand for the hungry participants as they spent the day roping for a good cause. Gary Adams said, “It was a great success and we made lots of money.”
Michelle Jensen reported that Blaine is out of the hospital after being confined first in Castleview Hospital and then in LDS Hospital in Salt Lake since July 11. He is doing much better and is on a strict diet. He lost 30 pounds throughout his ordeal. Blaine was given two beautiful quilts made by concerned friends, one was raffled off and Todd Jeffs won the quilt and then gave it to Blaine. There are still tickets available for a gun which will be raffled off in November. You can pick up tickets at BKs, Emery Animal Health and from Wynne Cowley. Blaine and Michelle have two sons, Kurry, 15 and Laramie, 13 who have helped out a lot since their Dad’s been sick. Kurry has taken over duties on the farm and helped out and Laramie has taken over Kurry’s chores. “They’ve helped out so much and been wonderful through this whole thing,” said Michelle. “Blaine can’t get out and get the cows off the mountain, but he’s been driving around in his pickup giving directions,” she said.
