Marion Elizabeth Stokes Jensen
Our beloved Marion Elizabeth Stokes Jensen, passed away at Castle View Hospital on Nov. 17 following a short illness. She was born Oct. 7, 1919 in Cleveland to William P. and Grace Elizabeth Cox Stokes. She was raised in Cleveland and graduated from Huntington High School. She also attended a year at Brigham Young University. She married James Maurice Jensen on Jan. 12, 1939 in Castle Dale and they were later sealed together in the Manti Temple. He passed away in 1981.
Marion enjoyed working on family history and operating several businesses with her husband in Emery County. She was a member of the LDS church and served in many positions including Relief Society president, Young Women’s president, serving a mission to the LDS Family History Library in Salt Lake City, and being a Manti Temple worker.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Mack) Potter of Price. Grandchildren; Jae (Lisa) Potter of Price, Mackae (Cheryl) Potter of North Odgen, Judith (Dave) Johnson of Cedar City, and Tom (Kristan) Potter of Huntington. Also 16 great-grandchildren and a sister, Ruth (Dewey) Zubeck of Orem, two sisters-in law, Betty and Marjorie Stokes. She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Wm. Lee Stokes, L. Grant Stokes, and an infant brother Max Stokes.
Funeral services were held Nov. 19 at the Huntington Stake Center. Interment followed in the Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary, Price.
Dortha Jewkes Jones
Dortha Jewkes Jones, age 95 passed away Nov. 18 at Price of complications due to a stroke.
She was born June 30, 1907 in Orangeville to Joseph Hyrum and Lorana Ann Scovill Jewkes. She was the last living grandchild of Samuel Jewkes. Dortha married Pier Carlyle Jones in Orangeville on Sept. 4, 1943. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
She was a member of the LDS church were she held various callings. She worked at the Peacock Cash Store for 17 years. She loved her flower garden especially roses. She won many sweepstake ribbons at county fairs for her canning, crocheting and quilting. She loved arranging flowers and doing bead doilies. With her pioneering spirit and great strength she has been an example to us all. To know her is to love her.
Dortha is survived by her children: Peter C. (Kathryn) Jones of Castle Dale; Ronald G. (Sue) Jones and Patrick (Laurie) Jones of Orangeville; Peggy Lorana Jones of Provo; and Kelly C. (Janet) Jones of Longmont, Colo.; 15 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and two great-great-children. She was preceeded in death by her husband; brothers, Benny, Floyd and Rueben; sisters, Vila, Ina, Jenny and Blanche; daughter, Lyla Steinhilber.
Funeral services will be held Nov. 22 at the Orangeville LDS Chapel at 11 a.m. Friends may call Nov. 21 from 6-8 p.m. at the Castle Dale Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Orangeville City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Amanda Jensen
CASTLE DALE – Amanda Ann Jensen, age 25, passed away Nov. 15, 2002 in Castle Dale.
She was born April 27, 1977 in Salt Lake City to Ernest John and Elnora Ann Kleven Jensen.
Amanda loved spending time with her little niece and nephews. She liked all kinds of music (except country and western) and had a soft spot in her heart for all kinds of animals, especially Chihuahuas, dolphins and whales. She felt a special love for children and those who had trials and difficulties in their lives. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by parents, Ernie and Ellie Jensen, Castle Dale; four brothers, Scott and Samantha Jensen, Castle Dale; Brett and Lori Jensen, Salt Lake City; Allen and Stacie Jensen, Castle Dale; Corey and Erica Jensen, Ferron; grandparents, John and Beverly Jensen, Castle Dale; and Evelyn Kleven, Kearns. Preceded in death by Grandpa Kleven.
Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 18, 11 a.m., in the Castle Dale LDS Stake Center under the direction of Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale.
MaryLue Gordon
Debra Lynn Bronson-Leavitt was born July 31,1963 in Norfolk, Virg. She passed away on Nov. 13 in Orangeville at her home. She married Clifford Ned Leavitt, Jr. on Jan. 21, 1982. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dora Mae and her husband, Cliff. She is survived by their two children, Jeramy and Bethany of Castle Dale; her father, Richard of Orangeville; brothers Rick (CJ) and Bob (Lonna) of Vancouver, Washington; sisters Kathy of St. Anthony, Idaho and Barbara (Billy) of Golden Shores, Ariz.
She was laid to rest on Nov. 16 in the Orangeville Cemetery next to her husband Cliff.
She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.
Her special spirit and kindness will forever live in her children and grandchildren.
Sleep peacefully, our precious Debbie.
MaryLue Jewkes Gordon
MaryLue Jewkes Gordon, 68, of Orem, died Nov. 16, 2002, at her home surrounded by loved ones, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
MaryLue was born April 6, 1934, in Orangeville, to Bryant R. and Mary Elizabeth Price Jewkes. She attended Carbon College in Price, and Brigham Young University where she received her degree in homemaking education. She married David Raymond Gordon in the Manti Temple, June 12, 1956, and together they raised 10 children while residing in Orem.
MaryLue was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving faithfully in many leadership positions. MaryLue was an avid genealogist. She and David enjoyed serving two missions together at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, cooking, camping, and fishing. Family was the top priority in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Don Jewkes and William Jewkes, and her sister Leah Jewkes.
She is survived by her husband, David R. Gordon; 10 children, D. Lynn (Jeri Lynn) Gordon of West Jordan, Julie (Richard) Manwill of West Valley City, Ann Gordon of West Valley City, Mindy Gordon of Orem, Janalee (Ronald) King of Pleasant Grove, Kristin (Charles) Jensen of Boise, Idaho, Paula Gordon of Provo, Jay Gordon of Mapleton, Steven (Kelli) Gordon of Coralville, Iowa, Richard Gordon of Orem, and a foster daughter, Carolyn (Jeff) Stevens, of Albuquerque, N.M.; 24 grandchildren; brothers Terry (Vivian) Jewkes, Robert (Rena) Jewkes, Jim (Pam) Jewkes, and sister Kathleen Beckstead, and sister-in-law Lola Jewkes.
A viewing was held Nov. 18, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. at Berg Mortuary located at 185 E. Center Street in Provo. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Cherry Hill Stake Center located at 1700 South 400 East in Orem, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment, Orangeville City Cemetery.

Phyllis Haggadone
PRICE/Kansas – Phyllis C. Haggadone, age 60, passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002 at her daughter’s home in Olathe, Kan.
She was born Dec. 28, 1941 in Price to Virdis Ugeen and Afton Norma (Tidwell) Winder. Married Elmer J. Haggadone on Nov. 10, 1967.
Graduated East Carbon High School in 1960 and then attended Brigham Young University.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she gave her life to her church and others.
Phyllis worked for Pacific Telephone for 16 years prior to retiring.
Survived by husband, Elmer J. Haggadone; daughter Wondra J. (Gary) Cooke, Olathe, Kan.; son, Cash H. (Christe) Haggadone, Prairie Village, Kan.; mother Afton Norma (Charles) Hunter, East Carbon; siblings, Virdis (Claudia) Winder, Randolph; Doug (Jerri) Hunter, Green River, Wyo.; Sharon (Peter) Kocum, California; Rosie (Raul) Mena, East Carbon; grandchildren, Bryce E. Cooke, Devon R. Cooke, Deaton A. Cooke, Garek M. Cooke, Jordan Evans and Jakob Evans. Preceded in death by her father, Virdis Ugeen Winder; and a brother and sister who died in infancy.
Funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 18, 11 a.m., Price LDS Stake Center, 150 South 500 East. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the stake center Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Cleveland Cemetery.

Grace Wickman
CASTLE DALE – Grace Francis Winn Wickman, age 90, passed away Nov. 13, 2002 in Ferron.
She was born Sept. 6, 1912 in Monroe to John Alma and Edna Calloway Winn. Married Neldon Wickman March 20, 1935. He passed away Oct. 6, 1972.
As an active member of the LDS Church, she served in numerous callings.
She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and fishing.
She loved her ladies club associations and the Christmas holidays.
Her greatest life’s joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Neldona and Wallace Baldwin of Salt Lake City; John and Connie Wickman of Orangeville; Janet and Jack Magnuson of Castle Dale; nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two sons, Craig and David; three sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Castle Dale LDS Stake Center. Burial was in the Castle Dale Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
