Evelyn Aime
PRICE – Our much loved wife, mother, grammy, aunt and dear friend, Evelyn Morgan Aime, age 84, passed away Dec. 14, 2002 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
She was born Aug. 5, 1918 in Mohrland, to Emrys and Minnie McArthur Morgan. Married Frank Aime, March 2, 1941 in Cedar City. He died May 13, 1996.
Longtime resident of Carbon County and graduate of Carbon High School. Evelyn graduated from Carbon College Nursing School as a LPN and she worked at Carbon Hospital for many years. She was very active in the nursing organizations and the American Legion Auxiliary over the years.
Her greatest joy was “getting on the road” with Frank and friends and going rock hunting and fishing. Evelyn’s sense of playfulness and her youthful enthusiasm were her essence. During the final two years of her life, Evelyn was in the loving care of Shauna, David and staff at the Heirloom Inn.
Survived by daughter, Joyce (Nick) Kontas, Denver, Colo.; loving granddaughters, Aime (T.J.) Robertson, Riverton; Angela Kontas, Denver, Colo.; nephew, Dr. Max Morgan; and niece, Jackie Johnson. Preceded in death by parents; four brothers, Max, Ford, Si and Tad Morgan.
Celebration of life Thursday, Dec. 19, 6 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Thursday one hour prior to service. Private family interment was held prior to services at Mountain View Cemetery, Helper.

Valene Brinkerhoff
EMERY – Our beloved Valene Ann Brinkerhoff, age 77, returned to her Heavenly Father from her earthly home in Emery on Dec. 11, 2002.
She was born Nov. 14, 1925 in Huntington to George Albert and Irene Ann Johnson Gardner. She married Cameron O. Brinkerhoff July 8, 1946 and three years later on that date their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, embroidery, flowers, and the hummingbirds. Her greatest love and joy was her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Emery LDS Ward. She has served faithfully during her life in the primary, relief society presidency, teacher, and secretary. MIA presidency for 16 years and a temple ordinance worker for seven years.
She is lovingly remembered by husband, Cameron O. Brinkerhoff, Emery; children, Kent (Twila) Brinkerhoff, Cedar City; Delroy (Kathy) Brinkerhoff, Layton; Phillip (Joni) Brinkerhoff, Parowan; Colin (Valerie) Brinkerhoff, Pleasant Grove; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister, Shannah (Charles) Lewis, Salt Lake City; three brothers, Van (Georgia) Gardner, Orangeville; Lamond (Sherma) Gardner, Cleveland; and Sharon (Vivian) Gardner, Kaysville. She was preceded in death by parents, two daughters, six brothers, one sister, and two grandsons.
A viewing was held Sunday, Dec. 15, at the Emery LDS Chapel and services were held in the Emery Chapel, Monday, Dec. 16. Interment, Emery City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary, Castle Dale.
Clyde Larsen
‘Together again’
ELMO – Clyde Lewis Larsen, age 93, passed away Dec. 10, 2002 at Turnquist Retreat.
He was born Dec. 14, 1908 in Indianola to Lewis and Lozetta Spencer Larsen. Married Edith Pearl Baker Nov. 13, 1931 in Roosevelt. Marriage later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. She died Sept. 13, 1995.
Member of the LDS Church. Retired member of the UMWA Kaiser Steel Local 9958.
Clyde was a farmer and was deeply involved in all of his family’s different interests. He was a great inspiration to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by four sons and one daughter, Melvin Larsen, Price; Phil (Shanna) Larsen, Salem; LaMont (Kriss) Larsen, Wellington; Jimmie (Gaylene) Larsen, Lakeshore; Beverly Larsen, Provo; sisters, Arsula Bird, Bluebell; Lucille (Max) Curtis, Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Clinton, Jaylene, Janell, Amie, Evelyn, Lynette, Glenn, Jennifer, Lyle, Alayna, Preston; and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Rhea Larsen; and daughter-in-law, Penny Larsen.
Funeral service Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Elmo LDS Ward Chapel. Interment, Price City Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.

Dorothy Farrell
“Beloved Mother”
PRICE – Dorothy “Dee” Eileen Brown Farrell, age 82, passed away Dec. 13, 2002 at her home.
She was born Sept. 5, 1920 in Minneapolis, Minn. to Raymond and Clara Shouse Brown. Married Bernard J. Farrell Feb. 23, 1946 in Fort Snelling, Minn. He died Aug. 31, 1982.
Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She loved to play cards and was a master bridge and contract bridge player. She will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.
Survived by sons, Garry J. (Linda) Farrell, Price; Robert A. (Mava) Farrell, Helper; Timothy J. (Jeannie) Farrell, Glacier Bay, Alaska; Dennis J. (Aida) Farrell, Elwood; Randall B. (Cheryl) Farrell, Helper; sister, Betty and Judy, both of California; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by grandsons, Micheal and Jesse Farrell; and sister, Virginia Russom.
Graveside service Wednesday, Dec. 18, 11 a.m., Price City Cemetery. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Wednesday one hour prior to service. Friends are welcome at Mitchell’s daily. Luke Byrge
KENILWORTH – Our loving husband, father, grandfather and dear friend, Luke (Luther) Byrge, age 64, passed away Dec. 13, 2002 in Price.
He was born May 25, 1938 in Huntsville, Tenn., to Mark and Dirley McCloud Byrge. Married Sarah “Deanie” Reese Oct. 15, 1977 in Ely, Nev.
Member of the Trinity Christian Center in Price. Luke was a retired employee of the Utah Department of Transportation Price Office. Luke was co-founder of the local “Helping Hands,” and whenever tragedy struck or a holiday season was near, Luke was there to help those in need. He will be dearly missed by his family and always remembered for his true spirit of helping others.
Survived by loving wife, Deanie Byrge, Kenilworth; children, Jack (Amanda) Byrge; Jason, Linda, Debra, Janet and Luke R.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents; brother, Donald; and sister, Clara Duncan.
Funeral service Tuesday, Dec. 17, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery.
