The Lady Spartans of Emery High School played on Dec. 19 and 20 in Castle Dale and came away with a win and a loss.
They defeated Uintah High on Dec. 19, led by Natalie Hansen’s 15 points. The final score was 49-22. Nine different Spartans scored in this game.
The Spartans next took on the 5-1 Hurricane Tigers and came up just short in that game 35-33. Emery was down 18-7 at halftime and 30-15 with five minutes left before a furious comeback that fell just two points short.
Jennifer Nielson led Emery with 14 points and Amber Gardner had 12.
