Student council members from Emery High accept equipment.

Cynthia Nielson, representing Emery Telcom, presents members of the student council at Emery High a gift from Emery Telcom.
The audio/visual equipment was donated to supplement the learning environment at the school.
“This equipment will enable the students in the drama class to tape productions and practices to be viewed for a wonderful learning experience,” said Neal Peacock, drama teacher at the school.
“Not only will the drama class benefit, but the students in business and sterling scholar classes can tape interview situations to get a taste for how an interview feels and also how they present themselves to the interviewer.”
The equipment was removed from a TV station in Cedar City. The station, CTV12, broadcast “Talk of the Town,” a local human interest channel and the local news to viewers in Cedar City. This donation also includes part of the studio news set for the backdrop to the equipment. Students will learn not only comportment in front of the cameras, but the realities of the backstage workings.
