Museum Exhibit
River historian and author Roy Webb will be speaking at 6 p.m., Feb. 7 at the John Wesley Powell Museum. Utilizing slides, Webb will highlight the Green River in this presentation in conjunction with the “Moving Waters” exhibit now at the museum. Utah Symphony and Opera at Local Schools
Apprentice Artists will be performing during the week of Feb.10-14. Ferron Elementary, Feb. 10, Huntington Elementary, Feb. 11, and Castle Dale Elementary, Feb. 13. Workshops will follow the performances at Ferron and Huntington Elementaries. On Feb. 12, the Apprentice Artists will perform at Emery High and at Canyon View Junior High on Feb. 14. The five day residency will culminate in a free public concert on Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Emery High Auditorium.

Unemployment Insurance Extension
On Jan. 8 President Bush signed a bill extending Unemployment Insurance benefits through May 31. This new extension does not grant additional weeks for individuals who have exhausted their Temporary Extended Unemployment Compensation eligibility. Orangeville City Dog Licenses

2003 Domestic Challenge!
The domestic Challenge is a 90-day competition geared to helping homemakers across the state of Utah organize their domestic responsibilities. Wilderness First Responder Course Offered
Canyonlands Field Institute is offering a Wilderness Advanced First Aid course Feb. 13-17, 2003 in Moab. Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS (WMI) will provide the instruction. 1,000,000 VALENTINES FOR TROOPS CAMPAIGN BEGINS
Three Southern California businessmen who last year distributed over 250,000 Valentines and Valentine emails to U.S. servicemen and women, are beginning their 2003 Campaign with a goal of 1,000,000 Valentines. Michael Fleming, 51, David Fleming, 48, and Paul Kramer, 38, are asking for Valentines to be mailed to them for distribution to military personnel at bases all over the world. Valentines will be distributed to military bases beginning February 7th. They prefer handmade Valentines. The majority of Valentines that were sent to them last year were done as school, church or youth group service projects. The Valentine campaign was an offshoot from letter writing campaigns that the Fleming brothers started during the Gulf War in 1991. Valentines are to be mailed or delivered to one of three Southern California distribution locations. The main location is Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour, operated by the Fleming’s and Kramer. It is located at 21516 Golden Triangle Road, Santa Clarita, Ca 91350. They can also be sent to Skateland in Northridge and Light of the Canyon UMC in Anaheim.
