Camp Dale DUP


The Camp Dale Daughters of the Utah Pioneers will hold their monthly meeting on Mar. 10 at 1 p.m. in the Castle Dale Senior Citizens Center.

Jr. Jazz Elections


Elections for Jr. Jazz presidency will be held March 8 at Cottonwood Elementary at 5 p.m. Anyone interested in helping with Jr. Jazz next year, please attend.

Babe Ruth Baseball


There will be an organizational meeting and board elections for Babe Ruth Baseball on March 10 at 6 p.m. in the Rec. building in Castle Dale.

“The Crucible” at CEU


The College of Eastern Utah’s Fine Arts Department presents “The Crucible” running it’s final showing Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. Box office opens at 7 p.m. Call for further information.

Veterans Affairs Office Revamps

CEU Ballet Ensemble


CEUs dance department is now preparing for a multi-faceted concert-Tribute of Broadway and Student Showcase to be presented Feb. 28 and March 1 in the Geary Theater on the CEU campus. This dance weekend will include dance auditions on March 1 at 1 p.m.in the BDAC main dance studio, room 109.

Days of ’47 Pageant


The Emery Company and County Camps of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers are looking for young women that are eligible to compete in the Days of ’47 Queen Pageant. You must be at least 18 years of age and have pioneer ancestors that came to Utah before 1869. If anyone is interested please contact Karen Huntsman at 381-5445 or any of the captains of the Emery County camps for further details.

Mesquite Senior Games


If you are 45 years old or older and love to compete in sports activities, the Mesquite Senior Games are for you. The games will be held April 28-May 4 and present twelve sports for competition, basketball, tennis, golf, softball, bowling, fun walk, sporting clays, archery, horseshoes and track and field. Children First Scholarships


Children First Utah is an organization that provides children of low-income families with partial scholarships for attending the school of choice. Applications will be accepted through March 9 and are available at all 127 Zions Bank branches throughout Utah or on line at www.childrenfirstutah.org. Steve James Performs with Elementary Kids


The Castle Dale, Ferron and Cottonwood Elementary students will be performing with Steve James on Mar. 4 at 7 p.m. at Emery High School. The Huntington and Cleveland Elementary students will perform at Huntington Elementary on Mar. 5 at 7 p.m. This is a concert you won’t want to miss.

DUI Education Series


DUI Education Series will begin on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. in the Sheriff’s Office in Green River. Contact Lynne Smith at (435) 381-2432 or Judge Burns for further information.

Ferron Stake Family History Fair


Ferron Stake will host a Family History Fair, “Family History is All Around” on Feb. 27 from 6-8 p.m. in the church on the hill. All are welcome as there is something for everyone.

Eagle Scout Project


A blood drive will be held Feb. 28 from 2-7 p.m. at the Castle Dale Stake Center on Main Street. This is an Eagle Scout project.

Historical Society


The Emery County Historical Society will meet Feb. 27 at the Museum of the San Rafael at 7 p.m. Kent and Janet Petersen will speak about cowboy poetry, Ray Petersen will address the issue of a heritage area, Shirley Spears will speak about the Archives and Jay Frandsen will provide the music.
