Strengthening Families Workshop

Emery County Historical Society
Emery County Historical Society will host its monthly meeting on April 23 at the Museum of the San Rafael at 7 p.m. Tom McCourt, author of The Split Sky will be the guest speaker. His book about the Nutter Ranch and the Nine Mile Canyon area will be available for purchase and autograph. Blair Cook will also present musical selections. The public is welcome to attend. Note this a change to Wednesday night.
Adult Softball
Registration for men and women adult softball league is now being held at the Emery County Recreation office. Deadline for sign-ups is May 10. An Ice Breaker tournament will be held on May16-17. Community Forum
Be a part of the solution, join the Community Forum April 25 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Museum of the San Rafael. Huntington Secondary Water
Even numbered houses and lots can water Monday and Thursday. Odd numbered houses and lots can water Tuesday and Friday. Churches,. schools, mobile home parks, cemetery and city parks can Wednesday and Saturday. No watering from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Absolutely no watering on Sunday. Using culinary water for outside use is prohibited. Secondary is expected to be turned on during the week of April 21.
Emery County Archives Wants Stories
The Emery County Archives is looking for your stories of service in the CCCs. To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the CCCs, the archives would like to assemble the stories of those either from this area who served or those who came here from other parts of the country. Blue Star Banner from the American Legion Auxiliary

Emery County Republican Convention
The Emery County Republican Convention will be held April 24 at Huntington Elementary at 7 p.m. Emery county Delegates are asked to bring a picture ID and arrive 15 minutes early for proper registration. Emery County residents are invited to attend. The purpose of the Convention is to reorganize the Executive committe and to vote on two issues.
Neighborhood Watch Meeting

Honoring Moms and Dads in the Navy Log
The US Navy Memorial Foundation is encouraging sons and daughters to enroll their parents, who served in the sea services, in the Navy Log. Women’s Conference

Bio-tech Academy for Teens
Scheduled for July 14-18 on the Utah State campus, the academy is open to high school students entering the 11th and 12th grades in the 2003-04 school year. Participants work side-by-side with faculty mentors on a variety of hands-on projects, stay in campus housing and eat in campus dining halls during the five-day camp. Students may select a specific area of interest, choosing from fields such as biology, chemistry, food and nutrition sciences, biological and envoiromental engineering, plant and soil science, and animal, dairy and veterinary sciences. Chris Boniol Kicking Camp

Ten Star All Star Basketball Camp

Health Career Exploration Camp
The Utah AHEC program at Southern Utah University is looking for high school students interested in pursuing a health care career. On June 16-18, AHEC will host their fifth annual Health Career Exploration Camp on the campus of SUU. All high school students are welcome to attend. Days of ’47 Pageant
The Emery Company and County Camps of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers are looking for young women that are eligible to compete in the Days of ’47 Queen Pageant. You must be at least 18 years of age and have pioneer ancestors that came to Utah before 1869. Unemployment Insurance Extension
On Jan. 8 President Bush signed a bill extending Unemployment Insurance benefits through May 31. This new extension does not grant additional weeks for individuals who have exhausted their Temporary Extended Unemployment Compensation eligibility. Bringing hope to single moms support group and self-reliance class now being offered in Castle Dale. Open to the public free of charge.
