Wilma Jean (Billie) Lamph Simone
PRICE-Wilma Jeanne (Billie) Lamph Simone passed away May 21, 2003 at the age of 76 from complications due to a sudden illness. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing.
Born to Edward Arthur Lamph and Margaret Leona Wycherley Lamph July 28, 1926. Married James P. Simone May 1, 1948, having recently celebrated their 55th anniversary. Preceded in death by father, mother and sisters Barbara Ellen (Bobbie) Lamph Cuburu and Michele Leigh Lamph.
Survived by loving husband Jim; children Bunny Vansickle, Barbara Sanfelice (David) Clyde, Jim (Cheryleen) Simone; sisters and brother, Jackie Drossos, Patsy (Raymond) Richens, Ted (Georgia) Lamph, and Terri (Jeff) Clawson; grandchildren, Tiffany, Brandi, Sarah, Caitlin, Lindsey, Austin and Bailey; great grandchildren, Ashley, Aurora, and Karissa; nieces and nephews.
Billie graduated from Carbon High in 1944. Her sister Bobbie waited one year after graduating high school and worked at McGonigal’s Drug Store until Billie graduated high school so they could join the Cadet Nurse Corps together. They graduated from Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake in 1947. Billie was a registered nurse at the Price Hospital, worked as a nurse for several different doctors and was the head nurse at the Carbon County Nursing Home in Price and also at the Emery County Nursing Home in Ferron.
Billie went back to school and graduated from CEU with an associate’s degree and from Utah State with a bachelor of art degree in 1971 and completed her M.Ed. from BYU in 1979. This was a great sacrifice and a major accomplishment in her life. She worked for mental health and then later at vocational rehabilitation as a counselor. Billie was one of the most caring people anyone would ever meet. She spent her life helping others. She was an active member of the LDS church and was also a member of the American Nurses Association and the Utah State Nurses Association. Her family and friends always came first. She was always ready and willing to help anyone in need and had an impact on everyone who came in contact with her.
A cancer survivor, having gone through three tough rounds of chemotherapy and congestive heart failure three years ago. She has been a volunteer for the Cancer Survivors Group in the Price area. Her nicknames at different times during her life were Sweet William and Wild Bill, by her father.
From time to time Billie would take off her, “mother hat,” or “friend hat” and put on her “counselor hat.” Billie loved babies to the degree that her children called her the Baby Lady, no baby was safe from her wanting to talk to, coo at, or ask permission to hold.
She loved Ireland and all things Irish, having spent a month in Ireland, England and Scotland with her cousin, Francine Berrett, doing genealogy a few years ago.
Billie has requested that in lieu of flowers, people send donations to the American Cancer Society. Funeral service was held May 24, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Price North Stake Center. Family was at Mitchell Funeral Home on Friday evening and at the church, one hour prior to services.
Interment was in the Price Cemetery.
Elizabeth Bostich Senechal
SPRING GLEN-Elizabeth Bostich Senechal, age 94, passed away May 22, 2003 in Price. Elizabeth was the second of eight children of Frank and Anna Krejic Bostich. She was born Nov. 19, 1908 in Frontenac, Kan.
Married John Senechal, April 3, 1926 in Girard, Kan. They were married 64 years before he passed away on Sept. 16, 1990.
Elizabeth was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and a member of the Western Slovanic Association for over 50 years. She loved to cook and bake to the delight of everyone. During WWII, she owned and operated the Sunny Cafe’s in Helper.
In early 1960, along with her husband John, they managed the Sunnyside Golf Course and concession stand for a couple of summers, including food preparation and pastries. She even tried her hand at playing golf somewhat. She was a past member of the Grassy Trail Riding Club of Sunnyside. Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her family and many longtime friends.
Survived by her daughter, Nadine (Henry) Skriner, Spring Glen; sisters, Ann Gracner, Illinois; Wilma Oliver, Texas; daughter-in-law, Merlene Senechal Anderson, Castle Dale; six grandchildren, John (Lisa) Skriner, Price; Patricia (Dale) Stapley, Helper; Lorene (Neil) Warrick, Indiana; Annie (Kirk) Elliott, Elmo; Ginger (Steve) Allred, Cleveland; Joni (Dan) Gardner, Oregon; 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, son, John; three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Mass, May 27 at 11 a.m. in the St. Anthony Catholic Church. Family will be at the church that morning at 9:30 a.m. with a Rosary to follow at 10:30 a.m.

Margaret De Rose
HELPER – Margaret Barber De Rose, age 89, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Orem, on May 20, 2003.
She was the fourth of 14 children of Dominic and Jenny Madeline Barber. Margaret was born Sept. 17, 1913 in Salt Lake City. She married Dominic De Rose Sr., April 18, 1931 in Helper. They were married 64 years. Dominic passed away Sept. 19, 1995.
Member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Helper, where she was a past member of the Altar Society and was active until her illness. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook, especially her peppers and pies.
Survived by children, Gilda (Joe) Elegante, Orem; Dominic (Carolyn) De Rose Jr., Farmington; seven grandchildren, Rick Elegante, Spring City; Brent Elegante, Orem; Lori Elegante, Irvine, Calif.; Diane (Scott) Watson, Midvale; Jon De Rose, James De Rose and Christopher De Rose, all of Farmington; nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Mayo, Salt Lake City, Francis Chido, Salt Lake City; Florence Oliver, Murray; Elaine (Walt) Kitterer, Salt Lake City; brothers, Bob (Darlene) Barber, Salt Lake City; Willie (Marge) Barber, Murray; John (Marsha) Barber, Salt Lake City; Nick (Nancy) Barber, Salt Lake City and sisters-in-laws Mary Barber and Sharlene Barber. She has several nieces and nephews who all loved their “Aunt Marg.” She also leaves two dear friends, Delma Dougherty and Irene Perri. Preceded in death by husband; parents; grandson, Michael Cole De Rose; brothers, Albert Barber and Gene Barber; sisters, Carmella Morondi, Emily Platt and Viola Hatton; three brothers-in-law, Joe Mayo, Joe Chido, and Frank Oliver.
The family would also like to thank all who cared for her especially the Rocky Mountain Hospice, Ann and Sheila.

Frankie Curtis England
GLENDALE, ARIZ.- Frankie Virginia (Curtis) England, 82, born July 6, 1920 in Woodside entered into rest May 1, 2003 in Glendale, Ariz.
Her love for her family was felt in everything she did.
Survived by children; Steven Diumenti, Frank Diumenti, Fred Diumenti, Catherine (Diumenti) Houston, Mack McDonald and Della Moody; brother Connie Curtis; sisters Kathleen Ball and Olena Marchello; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grand children who will truly miss their Nanny and Grandma Frankie.
Frankie will go home to Utah to be with them and also her mother and father, Estella and Joseph Curtis, brothers Max, George and Russell Curtis and sisters Delcina Colosimo and Wilma Curtis who preceded her in death.
Frankie can rest now with no worry. She can watch from above and see what a truly remarkable job she did with her life.
Frankie was deeply loved by her family and will live forever in their hearts. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Pete Perea
PRICE – Our loving husband, father, brother and longtime friend, Pete Tony Perea, age 91, passed away May 20, 2003 at his home.
He was born April 5, 1912 in Las Vegas, N.M. to Romualdo and Piedad Sanchez Perea. Married Stella Gallegos May 23, 1934 in Las Vegas, N.M., their marriage was later blessed at Notre Dame Church by Father LaBranch.
Member of the Catholic Church. Pete enjoyed sports, he loved playing baseball, was a professional boxer and his favorite pastime was bowling. He loved traveling and telling jokes. Pete was a longtime resident of Carbon County where he worked several years in the coal mines and was a member of UMWA. He made his profession as a carpenter and retired from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. Pete will be dearly missed by family and a community of friends.
Survived by wife, Stella; daughter, Pat (Rex) Tryon; four sons, Dick (Connie) Perea, Gary (Irene) Perea, all of Price; Ralph Perea and Dottie Byrd, Moab; Pete (Peggy) Perea, Salt Lake City; brother, Zeke (Rose) Perea, Ogden; sister, Francis (Alex) Sandoval, Salt Lake City; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; great-grandson, Braydon Barnes; three sisters, Victoria, Lucy and Elsie; and brothers, Robert, Jack and Paul.

Eva Ochoa
HELPER-Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Genoveva Eva Flores Ochoa, age 95 passed away May 23, 2003 at her home.
She was born June 14, 1907 in Santa Fe, N.M. to Gregorio and Mary Basilia Flores. Married Leandro Ochoa, Nov. 20, 1944 in Santa Fe, N.M. He died March 21, 1976.
Member of the Catholic Church. She loved cooking, traveling and going to church. Eva loved being surrounded by her loving family and will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by her son, Orlando, (Virginia) Ochoa, Helper; daughter-in-law, Mary Cruz, Albuquerque, N.M.; 10 grandchildren, Bernie (Steve) Tomkies, Houston, Texas; Jessica Ochoa, Helper; Kathy, Connie, Selena, Roberta, Tony, Rudy, Johnny and Michael Cruz, all of Albuquerque, N.M.; 16 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Eva Lovato, brother-in-law, David Ochoa both of Salt Lake City; special niece, Connie Romero, Santa Fe, N.M.; special friend Ilene Fish, Helper.
