Helen N. Sorensen
The family of Helen N. Sorensen will be celebrating her 90th birthday. It will be held on Sept. 20 at the Emery County Nursing Home in Ferron from 2-4 p.m. Family and friends are encouraged to stop by and wish Helen a happy birthday.
Emma Lois Larsen Madsen
The Children of Emma Lois Larsen Madsen announce the 90th birthday of their mother. A picnic-in-the-park was held in her honor Aug. 30. Lois was born Sept. 1, 1913 in Castle Dale to Erastus and Emma Petersen Larsen. She graduated from Central High in Castle Dale where she was an honor student and a Pep Club member.
She married Alma Andersen Madsen on April 21, 1933 in the Salt Lake Temple. Most of their married life was spent in American Fork. Alma died in 1985.
Lois was active in her church and community. She served as PTA President, Cultural Arts Club President, Relief Society President and Provo Temple worker.
Alma and Lois owned a summer home in Fish Lake, where family and friends were always made to feel welcome. Lois loved to sit at the big, front window, do handiwork and watch the hummingbirds come to feed.
Lois made sure family traditions were full of fun , food and festivities.
Lois continually inspires her family and others with her positive attitude and her ability to face adversity with courage and strength. She is admired, respected and loved by all.
Lois has six children, all living with their families in Utah: Clifford L. (Lois), Castle Dale; Don L. (Betty), Springville; Calvin A. (Sherry), Murray; Colleen (Mike) Manning, South Jordan; Betty Jean (Larry) Miner, Highland; Annette, Provo. Lois has 25 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
