Rose McKinnon

PRICE-Rose Ann Saracino McKinnon, age 68, passed away Sept. 24, 2003 at her home. She was born Feb. 13, 1935 in Helper to Ralph and Annie Alfonso Saracino. Married Roger Kenneth McKinnon, Sr., Nov. 18, 1954 in Elko, Nev. He died July 14, 2001.
Mom was an inspiration to all that knew her. Her generosity was surpassed only by her love for her family and God. She loved her husband Roger and was always doing special things to show her affection for him. She also enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters, traveling to see them as much as she could. Her children were God’s gifts to her and she spent her life living His word to show her appreciation through her faith.
One could not escape her warm personality. The friends and relationships she made with those she worked with were the beneficiaries of her charm and good nature when she was out in the public. She was a tireless worker and never accepted more pay than she believed was owed for the job she had done. She turned no one away that came to her for help. Through this and other ways, she taught family and friends the value of being a selfless servant of God.
Her greatest joy though was her grandchildren. She showered all of them with love, and took every opportunity to praise them for even the smallest achievements. She had a wonderful gift of creating fun out of learning and made it a point to teach good manners, respect, morals, values, and above all, an appreciation for God’s blessings. They knew her as Grandma Rose and they all looked forward to going to her house whether it was coming home from school, or a weekend sleep over. Either way it meant fun and most of the time, we parents had a difficult time getting them to come back home. Grandma, we’ll miss you.
Mom, God has called you back to Him. You have spent your life helping others and teaching His word. We know He has something special for you to do in reward for everything you have done for Him. Something you couldn’t do while here on this earth. We may not understand now, but in time, we will. In the meantime we’ll miss you dearly, We love you Mom. See you in Heaven!
Survived by her children, Larry (Shelly) McKinnon, Helper; Roger (Jolene) McKinnon, Price; Michelle (Elmer) Chaparro, Riverton; Lillian (Randy) Gold, Price; Rosanne McKinnon-Fisher, Price; 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brothers, Alexander (Donna) Saracino, Daniel (Polly) Saracino, Larry (Connie) Saracino, all of Salt Lake City.
Preceded in death by brothers, Jim and Tony Saracino, sisters, Theresa, Mary Monfredi and Theresa Dalpiaz.
